What’s your favourite film? I’ve got 4

Jaws

Toy story

Jurassic Park

Red Dragon

If I had to name one definitively it would be Jaws.

Mine are the original Fast and Furious, Rocky 3 and Top Gun...

Although the original F+F is a pretty rubbish film, it shaped my teenage years and led me on to making some great friends and memories!

Definitely agree about F+F it’s utter garbage but that’s what makes it brilliant. I saw a lot of F+F6 being filmed in Liverpool.

Solaris (Tarkovsky original, not the shitty remake). Films don't come any more intelligent. Unless they're Stalker, which is also good.

For English language films, Blood Simple (Coens early and best), Duel, any of the early 70s no wave road movies, and I retain a huge soft spot for both Apocalypse Now and Taxi Driver.

"A Tarkovsky fan on Fab ! "

Honestly I don't know how anybody who claims to love cinema can't love Tarkovsky. The man lived and breathed auteurism, film and storytelling. Sure the films are slow and thoughtful and a bit bookish. And what's wrong with that, unless you think all a film is is a loaf of SFX and CGI?

Then there's Australian cinema. Walkabout, Picnic At Hanging Rock etc.

'Chocolat' for it's shear romanticism

'All about my mother' cos it's funny AND fucked up

'Cabaret' for a campfest

'The Night Porter' because the subject matter unnerves me yet slightly arouses me + who would have thought Dirk Bogarde could be so deliciously dark

'The life of David Gale' Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet AND Laura Linney (who I have a major crush on) + it's thought provoking subject matter
