Message read but did not delete

This old chesnut again!
I can understand when couples and women get upwards of 51,716 messages a day [] they will not reply very often. No problem.
What I struggle with is, if they read the message and are not interested, why keep the rejected message? Surely it just clogs up their in box? |

Its their inbox. I dont really understand the issue - perhaps Ive missed the point?
How would you feel if someone dictated how you should manage your messages? |

It is just part of fab life, it normally means they are not interested, or it could be you have been shortlisted for some point in the future.
Get used to the fact that you are not owed a reply from anyone |

Women can't win.
If we read and delete straight away someone moans we are rude. If we ignore and leave unread people moan that they don't know what we are doing.
Now if we read and dont delete we are still wrong.
We will do what we do and run our inboxes as we see fit.
Send your message and forget it if you get a reply it's a bonus.

Because sometimes some people manage their inboxes differently
We probably have some read but not deleted
Depends what you are doing or if you shut you phone down quick, don't read into it you will tie yourself up in knots

I am not bothered about it, honest. Please don't assume things. It was an academic question.
I started on here with a couple profile almost 10 years ago so I do know the score. Then we deleted no interest messages as it kept our in box free for those new messages and ones we wanted to respond to. Tidy like; see.
People can do what they want of course; no worries. I just wondered why they leave message litter lying around. Simple as that.

I agree. That is how I deal with it. |

One of us will quite often read a message and if we’re unsure we’ll mark it as unread for the other to read when they have time.
This could take a couple of days if one of us is busy.
We’ve had people block us in this time as they’ve wrongly decided we’re not interested! |

There could be many reasons.
Sometimes we do this because only one has read and we wonder if the other may find interest.
It really doesn't matter what happens to the message once sent, what's important is if there is a reply. |

Send a message then delete it.
It feels like a lovely surprise if you get one in return, almost like they've messaged you first otherwise forget about it as it'll just make you feel down you didn't get a reply |
