I did 6 years of Latin at Boarding School from 1969 -1975..
Agricola iacto hasta, is as much as I can remember, for what bloody use it's done me 
It means, the farmer hurled a spear, for what it's worth  |

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori
Initially learned the phrase when we studied WWI poetry at school.
From Wilfrid Owen's harrowing poem "Dulce et decorum est".
However the phrase was initially written in Horace's Odes (which we didn't study, more's the pity !) |
