"Was a touch too young first time round (I was 12 in 77) but caught the back end of it when I hit my teens - so it's formed part of my musical heritage. Saw The Pistols at Finsbury Park on their Filthy Luchre tour in 96 - the day after seeing Madness in the same park, and more to the point the day after England beat Spain in Euro 96 - the Pistols actually surprised me with how tight they were live. For me though they were more of a figurehead of punk and there were plenty better than them including The Clash, Siouxsie, The Buzzcocks and The Damned " Maybe so...I just wanted to share my adrenaline pumping buzz I'm having over the Sex Pistols I would loved to have seen them live and also the Clash..Siouxsie Soux..The Damned..Undertones..Sham 69..I have seen The Buzzcocks though. Rebellion Punk Festival...a 4 day Punk and Ska dream

I didn't really get Muse but then bought an album which was a live recording at Wembley (I think) and it blew my mind how good they are.

"Twas a great music era to live through and whilst watching the programme last night we both decided that we have to get to some gigs this year so we can get sweaty and go deaf for a few days. Our three youngest have never been to a live gig but I’m thinking that I’m a bit too fucked to teach them to mosh!!!! Tony" “Never been to a live gig,” Tony man, that’s child abuse!
| |||
"Loved it all, but then I still love plenty of modern punk, rock and metal. Those who say modern music is dull or not as good are looking in the wrong places. It's just not mainstream. " Idles, Fontaine’s DC, there’s loads of good bands out there, I just need them to start touring again!

" No the abuse came to my ears when our oldest daughter now 32 hit 14 and wanted to go to gigs by HIM so like a mug I took her all over Europe and The UK and I was so much older and taller than the crowd we came up with a cover story that I was her body guard!!!!! Live music punk or otherwise is so much better. Tony

"Just watched a documentary on the Sex Pistols and now the gig they did at Brixton academy in 2007...I was under the age of 10 when Punk music was peaking in Britain...my older Sister was in her teens, appreciated and felt that peak...I had to wait a few more years to appreciate this musical era...Never got to see the Sex Pistols live but had the pleasure of seeing John Lydon and his band PIL at Rebellion Punk Festival....Amazing!! So who else on Fab loves this era of music? " It was a great period to be growing up, at school you had mods, punks, soul boys, skin heads, heavy metal etc all with unique clothing and fights and scraps in and out of school between gangs. Now it seems like virtually every school kid likes similar music to each other and dresses the same
