So I'm having some Strawberries (and other fruits) for 2nd breakfast, just before I have elevensies followed by lunch.
While I don't hate them, I honestly don't see what the fuss is over strawberries.
Same with salted caramel. Just don't get what it is that makes people get excited over them.
Which foods - healthy and none healthy - do you find can be overrated? |

Oreos. My kids think they're the best thing ever, probably because they only have them 2 or 3 times a year. They're flavourless sugary processed rubbish in my opinion. |

I’m the same with strawberries but if you find some that are deep red and properly ripe, they’re amazing! |

Great thread... Another for avocado here... Oh and bananas I mean you have to eat them in that exact 5 minutes between being a green rock hard stick and a brown soft powdery mush.
Oh and kale..
WTF?,! |

The slice of Victoria sponge I had in a national trust cafe last week. It was £3:75, dry, made with a catering mix, over sweet and just vile. To add insult to injury it was served in a box with a wooden fork and my coffee was in a paper cup |

Food porn - advertising - lemmings. Call it what you will.
I've no time for Strawbs or Grapes, unless the strawbs are in a fuck off huge tart covered with cream. Or unless the grapes are fermented and boozy.
Pizza is the marketing wonder of the world.
It is bread. Bread with barely any topping on. Expensive and non nutritious.
Now if people make their own and actually put some cheese on ..... that's a different matter.
Amazes me how much people are happy to pay for a large slice of bread. Which I'd thought of it. |

British farm strawberries are the most amazing food this time of year. So sweet and fresh. If your strawberries are meh it must be where they are from. I was having loads before i was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Project D donuts are over rated to me I had half of one once and found it heavy, sickly and cloggy |

Most food is overrated to me.
People rave about chocolate; I eat it purely because it's sugar and I'm addicted.
I love the smell of chips but get bored after 4 or 5.
Ice cream has never done anything for me but comfort me when I'm depressed.
I would love to go back to the time when I never thought about eating and just ate my dinner from necessity.

I'm on a Greek island now, and I just had Halloumi(fried) at a friend's restaurant for the first time, and it's really nice. I'm not a fan of fatty fried cheese, I've tried them before and thier so heavy, but this is really nice, but thinly sliced and fried. |

I've never had, but I've never seen what's so special about them. I think it's the huge advertising exposure that it's had. Well if your kids like them then that's it, you'll have to just keep buying it for them. |

Love strawberries, but they have to be British, in season. Have you tried them at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge OP, it gives them more flavour! There are other ways to eat them that add to the experience too, which I am happy to demonstrate? |

Joints / cuts of meat
Why do people get so excited over 'a steak'?

Food swimming in gravy or cooking sauce
I don't mind either, but I like just a little
Not a fan of 'wet' food

Also, Sunday Dinners

Angers me when you spend £65 for 3 people and they give you 1 stamp. The main reason I don't go there anymore.
Strawberries are overrated untill you get them from the pick your own place and realise Tesco don't have a clue.

Why all the hate for avocado?! It’s amazing when ripe - beautifully nutty and creamy.
Not on its own though. I make mine smashed up with finely chopped red or spring onion, shopped plum tomato, fresh red chilli (bit finger chilli), fresh lime, chopped de-seeded tomato and salt/pepper. Served with a well policed egg on toast.

I love both of these. Anything caramel and I like it.

A ripe avocado is a million miles away from those rock hard things they sell in most supermarkets.
Same with strawberries. A ripe strawb , straight from the plant and still warm is a sexy, sexy thing.
A cold hard crunchy (wtf a crunchy strawberry!)one from the chiller cabinet of your local supermarket, not so much.
My mate has tiny alpine strawberries in her garden. They are little flavour bombs in your mouth.
Heaven |

I’m struggling to find much on this list that I wouldn’t eat.
Nando’s isn’t all that, I agree…..would if I had to, though.
Never had oysters or caviar, so can’t comment. No desire to try them, either.
Cauliflower cheese….no thanks. Like both components individually, but together they do nothing for me. |

Strawberries should be quartered, sprinkled with sugar and left to stand for an hour or more. Best eaten with whipped cream or yoghurt |
