In flight. A magnificent sight of such a vivid blue. Saw one yesterday evening, first one I’ve seen for a few years and only the fourth different place that I’ve ever seen them. Very exciting!

I’ve never seen one dive but for a number of years they were seen in the moat across from my house so would often spot them when out dog walking. I’m going to search on YouTube. |

Sounds grand but it went around a big house that’s now divided into apartments. It was sometimes fed by a local stream to flood then power a mill. Gave me a problem to get insurance when I moved there as they claimed a local water course was higher than the property. Managed to find the company that had previously insured it so was able to get the mortgage. |
