long bloody profile text

I am debating with Mrs Raver about the length of our profile text. Seems to me to be equivalent to the works of Shakespeare - and who reads all of that without a few snores in between.

What do you lot think?

Mr Ranter

I think a long profile can be good if well written and humorous. I don't like the ones that are like a diary:

1/2/12 went here and had fun thanks guys

2/2/12 went somewhere else and had a good time

etc

etc

etc

Gets a bit tiring.

I have what I like to include in my profile. If it is too long for people's liking, it is their issue, not mine.

Looks fine!

Although I'd ditch the '50 shades' reference in your update!!

Everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon there - profile names, updates, forum posts - and it's all a tad cringe worthy!!

Apart from that - looks good!!

Enjoy!!

I would say this.... if they can't be bothered to read thru the profile that you wrote... then they are probably not the type of people you would be interested in in the first place.....

I tend to think that it depends upon who your preferred reader is - do you want someone who will take the time to read it and take an interest - or someone who doesn't care who or what you are so long as you're available? What sort of profile gets your attention?

The length is fine, but it's a bit dis-jointed - try linking the different lines as related subject - what you are looking for - and what your meet / accommodation preferences are... It would make it easier to read...

But above all - have fun!!!

I have been toying with the idea of trimming the number of words down in ours too.

I would rather it have as much information in as possible but it is starting to look a little like War and Peace

I have also been thinking of re-writing our profile, yours reads fine but I know what you mean about to much writing.

Not sure what to write tho

Length of profile text was fine. I enjoy reading a profile.

I scrolled through a lot of pics of the fem though and failed to find a decent piccy of the male.

Spot on. The ONLY (and I do mean only...) criticism I would have is that it's all individual 'stand-alone' sentences instead of being laid out in paragraphs - hence it looks longer than it actually is. Other than that...... pity you're so far away......

and xx

If what you want fit in 2 lines go for it.

If it takes 20 pages to explain what you are looking , go for it.

Your profile , you make like you want

We have quite a comprehensive profile, yet time after time it is skipped in favour of the pictures....but the only folk we ever meet are the ones who do the research....almost a filter xx and we love to read a good profile...

It is not how I've written mine because I have tried to be subtle and more entertaining but I think your profile gets the information across without waffle so it is fine by me.

We are just in the middle of up dating our, we haven't gopt a problem with long profiles, I think someone has already said that it's down to the type of person you want to attract.

If somebody can't be bothered to read a full profile then is that really the person you want to be looking to meet?
