Thinking of amazing vocal performances in modern music, as a recording artist.
A standout example that always tops my list is the inimitable Clare Torry on Pink Floyds seminal “The Great Gig in The Sky”.

Helen something. She also later sang with the scissor sisters. Which, disappointingly, was not a reference to their preference for inc3stuous sexual positions  |
