Indian curry house

So I'm not originally from Manchester(from down south), but I do love a good curry. Thus far though I still can't find a good curry house. Okay the best one I've found is in Lytham Saint Ann's (near Blackpool), I was there with my ex, she was a veggie, I had meat, both curries were amazing. But I have yet to find a good curry house in Manchester. Yes I have tried the curry mile and I was not impressed. Sorry folks. Any suggestions?

Dunno I'm afraid but I look for the places that have a lot of Indian customers. My Indian mates all have great taste!

I lived in stretford and the efforts in Urmston weren't anything special. I always enjoyed Coriander opposite the cemetery in Chorlton and been to some good Desi places around Oldham/Rochdale. Curry Mile is well overrated!

Akbars is good, restaurant rather than a takeaway.

I've also heard good things about Bundobust but I've not got first hand experience.

I don't know, but I've been trying to find a good one, but still can't. I've been to a few in Stretford, Chorlton, sale, and they've all been quite frankly from average to terrible.

Sorry, not Manchester but there’s a place in Ormskirk called Spice House. My favourite by far.

There's one in Shipley that has won a lot of awards but I've never tried it. Must be good as I believe it won UKs best curry house!

A good tip is to find your nearest Indian or Pakistani Community centre or a venue like a local Sikh Temple. Often, a lot of places like this will at some point during the week do a curry lunch. Likely it will be no frills dining, but it'll also be very cheap and the food will be 'home style' cooking which is very tasty. Home style is always the best!

Quilon, Victoria, south west London serves south west Indian food and has a Michelin star. Its five course tasting menu is £85 per person.

No I've not tried alllll 70. We tried a few and they were so bad it just put us off the rest. Why have you tried all 70? And is there one you'd recommend?

Thank you for the recommendation, but you do realise I'm alllll the way up Manchester? So by the time I get home from South West London it would have gone totally cold...
