I've recently been getting lots of articles on my news feed about the best album covers. I'm sure that there are plenty of you, like me, who remember the heyday of albums and the artwork on the covers.
One I particularly remember was Lovedrive by The Scorpions which featured a lady with rather nice breasts and a man with a massive piece of bubblegum stretching from his hand to her nipple. Surprisingly this cover hasn't featured in any of those articles lol.
Which album covers have particularly stayed in your memory? |

I recall that album growing up.. One in the same vein was Force It by UFO.
But there are a couple of album covers I used to love to scan over.
Iron Maiden - Killers
Marillion - Script for a Jesters Tear.. And all subsequent Marillion 12' singles / albums from then on really... |

"The LET THERE BE ROCK album cover...absolutely ICONIC !!! AC/DC's finest album cover in my humble opinion "
What more iconic than 'If you want Blood' or better than 'Highway to hell'!! Good but no way. |

Kiss : Destroyer
I definitely grew up listening to the same music, I remember scaling a wall to get into the Newcastle City Hall to see the Scorpions, then hanging upside down as my trousers got caught on the window latch. |

There and to the left a bit |
It's not just the covers though it's the inner sleeves too - used to love sitting listening to albums whilst spending time reading/appreciating the covers and the inner sleeve - a pleasure that never felt quite the same with CD booklets...
...notable covers/inners of my youth were...
One Step Beyond - Madness - the iconic pose on the front, Chas Smash dance moves on the back, and the inner sleeve was made up of photo booth pics of fans and the band plus one shot from behind of a naked lady with a towel on her head
Armed Forces - Elvis Costello - painting of a majestic charging elephant
Parallel Lines - Blondie - another iconic image, simple yet effective
Am sure there are more but I'd have to dig the vinyl out to jog the memory |

I went to a few gigs at Newcastle City Hall. I didn't see the Scorpions there though. |

It is to me ..also the very first time the ICONIC AC/DC logo was used by the band. "
I'm assuming you mean the international cover and not the original Australian one. |

Iron Maiden was my first concert at the Newcastle City Hall 1983, I remember I was gutted that Paul Dianno was replaced with a singer called Bruce Dickinson...it turned out well didn't it. |

I love the Sgt Pepper's cover.
And a favourite was Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake by The Small Faces...not particularly for the picture, but because of the tin it came in. I was gutted when my copy got damaged in a house move |

The one that sticks out to me forever and I don't know why but it is so memorable is the lightening seeds one with a strawberry on called Jollification.
Its one of my childhood albums. |

Without any doubt, the best album art in my mind is Jethro Tull's "Thick As A Brick" It's just so funny i can't stop reading it when i start.
It takes longer to read than it takes to play the album. |
