I guess this question really applies to the women, as I see lots of statuses saying they have 1000’s of messages to get through please be patient etc.
So I am asking, what makes you read a message in the first place?
As there are loads to chose from?  |

I don't anymore but my filters are very tight.
When I first joined I had over 300 messages in the first few hours even though I had no photos or profile text.  |

I don't get that many which people who message rarely believe, but I'm visually impaired so I'm only going to reply if the physical attraxrok is there in the first instance. A message with a clear face photo attached feom someone I'm physically attracted to, who can also string a sentence together will catch my eye. I dislike crude messages, and people who ignore my face and act like I'm a walking vagina.
I've had a photo at the top of fab and still only received a dozen messages in an hour.
Women avoid me which is likely why, and I must only attract unverified peoole outside of my age range.
When you are as unfiltered as I am it gets you nowhere! I don't know how people lile Be-You-Tiful keep up as she's probably the most popular on here. |

I read them all, yes there's a lot but filters are a god send.. use them and it's easier. Most consist of one word messages so doesn't take very long to go through them  |

I don't get thousands, I use filters. I'm not sure what makes me reply. Boredom. Avoiding sending a work email because I'll probably have to be saccharine in my politeness. An interesting heading that's more than wuu2?
I'm more likely to read them if I recognise their names from the forum.

I use filters so. Don't get that many.
I always read the profile 1st and if it appeals I'll read the message.
If I don't like the profile or there's nothing on it ie pics or text, then I'd delete it. |

As a general rule, any messages from people who meet the preferences I mention on my profile (which I change according to what I’m looking for that day lol) will be read first. I usually ignore anyone who lives more than 10 miles away and aren’t in my age preferences. And who can’t accommodate. |

Before I open a message to read it I always look at the person's profile - if it is hidden, I delete the message.
If the profile consists of an exciting one liner message, displays unique cock pictures from at least 10 different angles then I will race to send a message to the guy before I have read his message. After all, I don't want to miss this one!
If I find the profile appealing, I will actually read the message and reply. (tongue, cheek and all that)  |

If I see the paper click icon I’m more likely to click hoping they’ve attached a face pic.
Also a message that just says hi x won’t even get opened. I use filters but I still get 100s daily and I currently have 550 unread  but others people prob use much tighter filters. |

Ive got 1936 messages (unread)
And what catches my eyes are: the little display pic, and I read the first lines of the message without opening. Otherwise I’d be forever…
If those match then I either open it, or check the profile. If all good then I reply if not I leave it, sometimes tho I’m so flooded I am unable to give a good attention to all messages x |

The ones I ignore;
- no picture
- ‘fill in later’ bio
- offering payment
- asking my husband if they can use me
- bullies claiming to be Doms
- offering to come to my house now then fuck and go
The ones that catch my eye;
- humour
- images with some thought (not; over a toilet/‘single’ men with partner’s lingerie in the background/children’s toys everywhere)
- people that match our specified preferences

I skim read them all, but only reply if its a forum thing or an ongoing message. Im not an on the market fabber at the moment though so put no effort in to it. There was no magic formula to ones I read that have lead to a meet, just massive good luck and the gods favouring me. |

Or they're Not my type
No banter or wit on their profile or in the message.
I'm an absolute sucker for humour. I need some sort of connection with them. Obviously I also need to find then attractive. |

I read most messages. I do scan to delete for people I've said no thanks to before or the header hints at me shitting on someone's face or suchlike And I try to look for people I've been chatting to but they often get lost in the constant stream!
I like talking to different characters, that's why I read them. You never know what you'll find! I have grown my music tastes, my reading tastes, my knowledge of places. I've had support and given support to people I will never meet. And met people from all walks of life just by answering messages on here!
Okay, there are times when it's so repetitive but for me it's generally a positive receiving messages.

I have a couple thousand unread at the minute, I feel so guilty for not being able to get back to people. Tbh if they have no profile picture or aren’t verified I tend to skip by them. When they attach a picture it makes me more inclined to open also |

I have my filters set so don't get bombarded with messages (I try to reply to most) but a message message that catches my eye will always have something that shows they've read my profile in it, polite goes a long way too and face pics if they're not publicly available to see.

I used to get a lot of messages on my singles profile. I set the filters tighter. I just used to open each one and delete all the rubbish and leave the better ones marked as unread. I'd go back again later and either delete or reply. I then just blocked males from messaging altogether.
But in fairness I wasn't inundated and it wasn't hundreds a day either.
Can't say anything ever stuck out as me wanting to open the message.
More a case of if I kept thinking about one and their profile id go back and reply to it. |

I don't get that many either. I tightened my filters pretty quickly after I joined and now I don't get that many. I don't see the point in getting hundreds of messages I can find it hard to reply to the few I get at times .
But I honestly cannot put a finger on what makes one message stand out from another I think it's usually their profile will stand out more for me and make me interested in chatting more to someone. |

As a sender I get frustrated because I send proper messages, a few sentences at least. I send pics. I try to make them honest and interesting and pick up on something I liked in the profile. Yet despite doing everything right, I see about 50% of my messages don't even get read and of those that do, I get very few replies. I don't really know what more I can do. I don't think I'm THAT bad looking that every woman is turned off by my appearance, so I really don't know what it is I'm doing wrong!
Reading this thread has just added to that frustration as I'm not guilty of the reasons people are ignoring messages, yet it still happens to me! |
