Any one of a number of reasons, he was seen as a real threat by the top table of the FBI....they spent many months trying to decredit him before his assassination.

was meaning more the assasins excuse.. as in ronald regan being assasinated john hinkley jnr blamed it on the film The Taxi and falling in love with Jodie Foster

The man credited with assassinating him cited King's connection to communist groups in the US....even though there was little evidence to link King to any leading communists of note.

Numnber of reasons colour of his skin. MLK views on the civil right movement.. maybe he was hired to kill him.. I suppose there is a number of reasons
