A simple yet needed question I thought I’d ask…. What is it about a profile that draws ladies & couples in? I realise everyone is wanting different things but at least if theres something there they want then it’s a good starter right? So teach me the ways oh wise one :p |

A profile should be informative.
Mystery is all very well and goid, but with the sheer number of single men on fab, many women and couples aren't likely to message someone to find out information that others have taken the trounle to display on their profiles.
A goid profile will set out what it's owner is looking for and what they have to offer. |

That's the key, grabbing the attention.. keeping it is a whole other story. You can have the best profile in the world, it doesn't gurantee connections with people.
If you feel your profile reflects who you are then no one can pick that apart. Just be you and do what you wanna do, everyone's a critic regardless |

My profile is very long, but it's clear about what I'm looking for, particularly when it comes to men but it doesn't seem to get me much interest from those who are for me! A lot will ignore it, others read, yet still choose to ignore it.
Apparently I'm up my own arse based on my profile, but I would rather that then those calling me that be up there!
I'm ( incorrectly) seen as a miserable c*** by a lot on here, whilst I ( correctly) think they're massive c***s for being judgemental. |

And there’s the difficult bit.. write too long and people are interested (or is just blokes that do that) or not write enough and come across as lazy…. |

This is where the old "we all like different things" adage comes into play.
Personally, I'm not even going to look at a profile if I don't feel like I'm going to be attracted to the person that I can see in the profile picture. |

It’s not about attracting everyone, that’s not possible and I think it’s where a lot go wrong. People get bogged down in profile text and pictures that don’t represent the real them, which is daft.
It’s about attracting the people that you want to meet and that will like you, which means making your profile about yourself and being as ‘you’ as it can be.
If people are put off by that, then they’re not your type, if they like it, then there’s a start. |

I personally like to see pictures of bum holes but no one ever listens to me.
I wouldn’t call myself miss average either if I wanted to appear awesome to people. But saying that I could call myself MissShitsHerself and I’d still be beating them off with a machete. |

There and to the left a bit |
If you use the reply and quote button it makes it easier to see who you're replying to
The problem is OP you're trying to make sense of how other people think and find a one size fits all approach - when it would be better to apply your own way of seeing things and find people that match that.
There is no magic formula that is guaranteed to appeal to all - so all you can do is be yourself, reflect yourself and allow others to decide for themselves if they like it or not |

Everyone will have their own opinion on this. For me, it's probably more what turns me off than draws me in.
First off, crude usernames are a no-no, I just won't bother. Then profile photo, if it's a cock or "Facebook Dad" photo then I also won't bother.
General photos - not 1 million cock shots or hurried snaps - I like considered, well presented images that make me want to see me.
Text, no self pitying "guys have it hard on here" or passive aggressive nonsense. A bit about you, without being boastful, what you're looking for and be truthful without being overly earnest or sleazy. That's just me though. |

I tried a few different styles of profile before settling on the one I've got now. I feel like it's got the right amount of information with my personality strewn through it as well. I've had a few compliments on it so it seems to be doing it's job.
But obviously, what works for me might not work for you. I'd say trial and error are your friends. Keep changing it until your find something you're comfortable with and represents you well. |

A handsome face grabs my attention, the jawline can usually give clues as to whether the face is going to be handsome. I pay close attention to jawlines if I can’t see the full face. |

The great philosopher Francis Boyle once put it as finding surprising ways for sentences to end. I personally see the Internet as a vast sea of everyone taking everything too seriously |

The sydney uni thing on an otherwise decent profile always upsets me. Otherwise it just seems to be a case of right place right time and endless patience |

For me personally, add a little bit of your humour to the profile, an insight into your personality if you will and some more pictures, artful, less is more sort of thing. |

There are many re-written Sydney University paragraphs along the lines of `what a load of bollocks' that are very funny. |
