Congrats to all the teams qualifying for the knockout stages yesterday (basically anyone on 4 or more points) and I’m sure everyone is delighted the Danes are through after their traumatic few weeks!
Tonight it’s the conclusion of Group D at 8pm (no 5pm games today) and a must win game for Scotland at Hampden against World Cup runners up Croatia. A win and Scotland definitely qualify for the knockout stages, a defeat and they’re definitely out (the same applies to Croatia so it’ll be a fiercely fought game).
Meanwhile, at Wembley, there’s a clash between 2 teams that have qualified with a game to spare, so whatever the result tonight between England & the Czech Republic both are definitely through.
The group winners stay at Wembley for the next round so only and England win tonight will see them top the group, any other result and the Czechs are top.
My predictions:
Scotland 1-2 Croatia
Czech Republic 1-2 England
What are your predictions and who do you think will be making headlines tonight? |

Manchester (he/him) |
Scotland 1 - Croatia 2
Czech rep 1 - England 3
I’m going with a variety of heart and head on this one.
I’d like Scotland to go through (it has to happen at some point!) but I can’t see it against an organised Croatia team, especially missing their midfield Messi. Here’s hoping that they score at least.
I’d really like England to put in a shift and play with pace, score some goals and put an average side away. Henderson and Maguire returning will be a big boost, we need Kane to get his touch back. My prediction is more hopeful, than predictive.
Let’s see what happens in regards to Rice and Mount today |

"There seems to be a distinct lack of enthusiasm for this game tonight, especially after Sunday’s game
Probably because we’re through anyway though to be fair. It’s not as exciting x"
True that. I know that my excitement has been tempered by a return to pedestrian football |

Wembley will host 60,000+ spectators for the semi finals and Final in a deal struck with UEFA, Budapest and Rome had offered to step in and host them .. let’s hope England are still one of the teams involved! |

"It will be 3-1 in both games….
Chuffed that Saka gets his chance to wow the world, he is that talented…"
Aye, let’s hope he makes it impossible to drop him for the rest of the tournament! |

"All the good moves are coming from Saka. He’s the only one that seems to want to play and create. Well him and Grealish. "
Walker needs to pass it forward to Saka rather than back to pickford everytime... Kane looks about 100 years old. Impressed with Saka and Grealish though. |

I want us all to go through x"
I'm with you on that. It's great that Wales and England are already through. It would be even better if Scotland got through too. Fingers crossed. |

Really impressed by Saka and Grealish this first half. Could do with tightening up the defence on set pieces but on the whole a good performance in my eyes |

"Is Callum McGregor the most Scottish name ever?"
I visited the Inverness Caledonian Thistle ground while doing the North Coast 500 a couple of years ago, and their main stand is the Jock MacDonald Stand .. runs a close second? |

As it stands: England win group and return to Wembley a week tonight, Czechs finishing second.
Scotland and Croatia both exiting the tournament on 2pts each unless either can fashion a win in the second half.
Squeaky bum time! |

"If England win the group I expect them to lose their next match against the group of death runner up.
I agree hence a draw and Sweden in next round would've been better at this stage "
Trouble is then you play the winner of the group of death away in St Petersburg in the next round. Might as well win the group now and play the runners up at Wembley, than play the winners in St Petersburg... |

Maybe that's why he's taken grealish off. The only one who seems to pass or move forwards |

Who's everyone's Man Of The Match?
I know Sterling scored but it's Saka or Grealish for me. Both have done class getting forward and playing positive football |

Full time in both games, another scrappy game at Wembley but England win the group with a 1-0 win and return to Wembley next Tuesday night.
Croatia leapfrog the Czech Republic into second on goals scored with the Czechs in 3rd also qualifying for the next round but sadly Scotland exit after giving it a right go but unfortunately coming up just short.
A very tough game awaits for the English in the next round whoever finishes second in Group F, they will need to up their game to progress through the knock out phase for sure. |

Nobody *really* expects England to win the tournament so you will get your chance for revenge in the near future no doubt!
However it’s called rivalry, it’s just lighthearted, we’re allowed to rib each other as I’m sure all the rest of the Home Nations will England when the inevitable exit occurs! |

Possibly the most ironic post I've ever read."

Can't see past Germany. However like any tournament, to win it you've got to pit yourself against the best. I'm just hoping England can raise their game in the knockout stage against the better sides |

I'd love us to do well. No strike that. I'd love us to play football for 90 minutes. Put in a performance of skill and effort. If we win great. But just put in a performance that matches the hype of kane being world class as one example. But with 3 exceptions grealish foden and Saka we look like we have only just been introduced to a football. And we dont look fit enough... At 70 minutes it looked like we had played 30 minutes of extra time. I can't stand the way Southgate has taken all the creativity out of our players. But... We are still in it... Good luck to Wales too. And why does kane play like a midfielder for England.? |

Kane looks a spent force. As you say Southgate seems to have stifled the creativity that we have. It's a strong squad on paper. But like every tournament for the last god knows how long we have a manager that does not know his best team. |

Doesn't know his best team, his best players or how he wants to play, plus we take players who are either injured, unfit or need "minutes" or worse still are usually good players but are in a poor run of form...so... Kane, stirling, rashford out of form. Henderson, maguire not fit. That's almost half our team. What arrogance to think we can do well with 9 players carrying 2 passengers. |
