"Is what still true?
Red shoes no knickers!"
I wore red shoes to work years ago and my boss said that to me
I remember looking at him confused and he explained the saying - like it was nothing
Hadn't ever heard the saying before then and that was the last time I red shoesed it |

Seeing as you hardly ever see anyone in fur coats these days maybe the expression needs a 21st century update, to something like, "Black leggings and no Knickers." That look certainly catches my attention these days more than red shoes or fur coats do. |

Off the subject a bit but have you all seen the new type legging women are wearing?
They kind of scrunch up at the top of the bum and my goodness they are as sexy as can be.....sorry folk I just had to mention this new delight |

She's all fur coat and no knickers.
She's all red shoes and no knickers.
He's all mouth and no trousers.
They are all kippers and curtains.
All old sayings I remember well ...
Superficial people. People of no substance. People who think that the car and the house and the over laden credit card maketh them .... attractive on the top but nothing going on under the skin.
I do like a good idiom. |
