I’m 5’6”. Certainly under national average. Has its advantages, has its disadvantages. Not an issue for me except when trying to reach for something on a high shelf. |

Being serious for a minute (yes, it's hard!), I couldn't really give a monkeys about height.. I'm sat down most of the time. My first boyfriend was 6ft 7. My son's dad is 5ft 5. Mr KC is 6ft 4. I don't think height is something I'm fixated on.
But I fully understand people who do want someone taller/shorter for practical reasons! |

I'm 5ft 9 and I do prefer taller men just because I'm not keen on feeling like a giant when I have heels on. Having said that I did marry a man shorter than me.
It's a preference not a deal breaker for me |

If i was to nitpick, id say not true. As a paraplegic dude when im wheeling around and not bagging all the best and free parking im about 4' tall, then in bed laying down im 5'10". Wonder how many guys can genuinely say they are over 2' bigger in bed than out of it.  |

Is what it is nowt you can do to change it....a lot of women love tall guys some do some don't, I don't like tall women I prefer short women because I'm not tall myself but even if I was tall I prefer short women everyone has a preference

Mate you are 5'9 ...anything between 5'7 and 5'9 is considered average height. Anything over 6' is considered tall. Only 16% (allegedly) of men are over 6' and only 3% (again allegedly) of men are over 6'3...so tall men are kinda rare, that's why they are preferred by most women. I'm only 5'7 ...I've experience most if not all female rejections based on my height...it sucks (especially because I can't change that). But that's exactly the point, I can't change that, so no reason to keep thinking about it...I'm focusing on the things that I can change (improve) |

Mills and Boon books I read growing up .. the man was always tall. (Yes I am that old)
Novels, movies, tv series … the hot men always tend to be portrayed as tall and handsome
I absolutely definitely couldn’t date anyone under 5’10 … that’s my issue not theirs

I never thought that height mattered and as I am 5'2" I rarely came across anyone shorter .I did meet someone though a good while ago who claimed to be 5'7" but when I was wearing 2 inch heels I was as taller than him and it was the first time I've had to bend down to kiss a man and I have to admit I didn't enjoy it as it felt strange so yes I guess now height does matter to me now. |

We're not all here for the same reasons and whatever they may be, those reasons are equally valid. It's a mistake to assume that everyone here just wants sex. They don't. What some want is just a little something extra which is what is absent in their real lives. Amongst many other possible descriptives, that might mean younger, taller , bigger or smaller and many other possibilities. Why would that be? Well maybe it would be because in every other respect they are happy and content with what they have. Maybe they don't just want sex but someone who fulfils a fantasy maybe. Someone who ticks a number of other boxes and also satisfies what we might say are more basic desires.
When we fancy a curry we fancy a curry. That's not to say that Chinese food is rubbish is it? It's not to say we never fancy fish and chips or pizza is it?
People come here for very different reasons and those who get the best out of this site understand that fact and don't take offence at 'rejection'. They understand we all have different opinions and read profiles so they can concentrate their efforts on those who are a good match NOT just people they fancy having viewed a few pics. |

I fall in the shortarse category.
I met women I could throw over my shoulder.
I met women who could throw me over their shoulder.
In either case we had a great time: there was no physical challenge we couldn’t overcome because of our height difference. When you’re attracted to somebody and fancy a bit of a squeeze you’ll have fun no matter what.
And on a side note, I read a couple of comments linking height to dominance. I can understand the visual aspect but there is a lot more to dominance than physical stature. Quite a lot more.
