So the University has been in touch with me and would like to know what do you use to wash the dishes....a cloth, a sponge etc or do you use a dishwasher......?????......

As specified in another thread I use a blue cloth for washing my dishes. I also have a brush thing with a handle for my pans. A bit fancy but gets the pans clean

I'd love a dishwasher.

I use gloves, boiling water, fairy liquid and a good sponge. I'll use a metal scourer for tough stains.
