That's BrixHAM, not BrixTON.
We're heading to that part of the world soon, but from memory, although it was a beautiful place, there wasn't much to do there.
So we're debating staying somewhere nearby which might be a bit more fun (as well as beautiful) and just having a couple of day trips to Brixham instead.
Any recommendations on nearby areas to book the hotel? Or anyone living near there with any tips on fun places to go?
Thanks in advance.

Dartmouth is very close, but it’s busy as fuck, I’m not a fan of Brixham, the old town and harbour is okay, but the rest is pretty shit. Venture down to the south Hams area, down around Slapton, Salcombe way. |

Cheers mate. I think we're being tempted by Torquay now. |

Solihull and Brentwood |
Could visit Cockington.
A seriously quaint village which you can walk around, and visit a glass blowing workshop. Has plenty of shops and cafes, and also has a pub. Could be a fun day out.
Babbacombe has lots more to do with a model village and Kent's caves. Also Torquay is very close which has plenty of places to eat, drink and stroll and lots of hotels. B&B's and caravan parks.
There's a steam railway from Paignton to Dartmouth.
Have fun. |

I'm in Torquay, you can get the Western Lady ferry over to Brixham doesn't take long, or the 12 bus.
In fact a £5 dayrider pass will get you from Dartmouth, Totnes all the way to Dawlish Warren and even Newton Abbot pretty good value I think. Anything you need to know just ask |

I would guess Paignton is cheaper for accomodation than Torquay.
Dartmouth is beautiful but like others stated CRAZY busy. The railway from Paignton to Dartmouth is nice.
Broadsands and Goodrington are great beaches with no sudden drop/shelf into the sea.
Paignton zoo is always a good way to flit away a few hours. If youve got kids Woodlands leisure park, penny well farm, totnes rare breeds farm are all fun.
Ashburton has Devon Country Park which is wonderful to explore and on a nice day take a dip in the manmade lake/beach with the huge adventure pirate ship. Its got zip wires, kyaking, high wire activities.

Oddly enough a friend from fab suggested I buy a mega rider ticket when I visited the area for a week and the amount of money I saved through doing that was shocking, definitely worthwhile, and the bus service is great. |

It's pretty good depends on the route of course, the 12 is every 10 minutes Brixham to Newton Abbot via Paignton and Torquay |

Thanks everyone. These suggestions are all really helpful! If anyone has any suggestions for accommodation. I (Becky) would like a nice spa hotel for a couple of nights and then either a nice little B&B or potentially something quirky (I’m thinking glamping or a treehouse or something that’s fun in practice and not just in theory… like camping when it’s raining and you just end up soggy and miserable).
We’re not set on the precise area and we’ll have a car but it seems like a nice part of the world to see! |

The 25 in Torquay has been voted best B&B in the world on TripAdvisor 2 years running, not cheap though |
