Ive left one job for another and feeling apprehensive about it, supervisor didn't answer me at the induction, so, am i worrying about too much?
1. Worrying about the risk of falling in water working on quayside 2 metres plus away from the edge, unhooking load from a crane
2. Being driven as a passenger in a crew bus on quayside, with the chance of a shit driver or shit brakes n steering and crashing into the water
am i a worrier?

I would say so yes. I am sure you are aware that any site would require risk assessments and safe systems of work and they must make sure you read them and follow them. You should receive a site induction and should be adequately trained to perform your tasks safely. Ppe should be provided as well to protect you.
Can you swim?
Do you have to take the bus or can you walk to your place of work? |

I would say you are over-worrying (and you're not the only one). It's natural to be apprehensive about starting a new job especially if it's in an environment you haven't worked in before.
Best thing is to try to distract yourself by going for a walk or something you enjoy doing which will bring your mind into the present rather than worrying about the future and what might happen.
Have a search on the web for Mindfulness and CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and you might pick up other tips. |

Your supervisor should have answered you, ask them again.
I think your worries are probably natural given that you're in a new job and will have anxiety around that and you're focusing on things you haven't had an answer to.
The reality is that the things you're worrying about are unlikely to happen.
I hope your supervisor can put your mind at rest

Stevedore's are given training in (un)loading on quayside usually and all docks have health and safety executives which you'll be able to raise any concerns with and they will know about all training opportunities.
As to the bus - these are usually very well maintained and the drivers very experienced.
We all appreciate percieved danger but worrying about it won't change a thing or make it worse/better except for the person doing the worrying! Free up your time ... big breath in, smile to yourself and give yourself a huge pat on the back for getting so this far!

No, can't swim, but was told it may not be of use as could get wedged then slowly crushed by the ship |

Sounds like you suffer from anxiety over things you can't control. When we are not in control, it's easy for your mind to run away with you. Try to think things through logically.. the chance of these things happening etc and that usually helps. Take a breather and come back to your thoughts when your calmer |
