Its just been reported on the news that

some lowlife has added a post on Dylan Cecils tribute page pretending to be from the little lad.

Do you think F.book and other social media sites should "morally" automatically pass details to the police, monitor tribute pages far more and act swiftly to remove and block rather than wait for a court order or formal request ?

thats sick

but if you want free speach then you have to accept that these things will happen.

the old quote "i dont agree with what your saying but i will defend your right to say it" springs to mind

To be honest, it doesn't surprise me in the least, every big story relating to missing or passed children has been trolled on Facebook, twitter etc.

Its stomach churningly sick and I think that facebook should take more of a responsiblity in keeping an eye on high profile pages to prevent the trolling that goes on constantly in situations like this

No they shouldn't and the reason this that the idiots who want this sort of thing want conditional censorship - and they'll want until the day they themselves are censored and then they'll whine their whines about how they don't want censorship.

It's the price of free speech, just as we should allow Western hating muslims the freedom to express their beliefs in London or whereever.

Censorship is a slippery slope and the bandwagon that people jump on in cases such as this is an uneducated, ignorant, ill thought out one.

we'll all be paying for facebook soon. Ive no issue with this btw

imagine the billions of posts that are made world wide and to have people at a computer somewhere in the world having to screen then and then the amount of UK Police officers having to investigate each claim

Angus & Findhorn

thoughts with the family at this very tough time.

as for the troll, just pity & sadness that someone feels the need to do something so foul.

The people that do it crave the attention and by blasting it over the media it's doing just that which will only encourage more of those idiots to do it.

The best way of dealing with it would be privately by authorities and by the news not giving it any coverage. Also whichever site used as the platform spotting it and deleting any comments and replies about the incident.

Obviously people will want to know that the idiot has been brought to justice but at least by not blasting it all over the media the perpetrator won't get their attention through it anyway.
