It’s the same reason that people push to the front at gigs; to be close to the action!
Atmosphere, excitement and maybe pick up a ticket if ones going spare. If I could, I’d probably go to London today, just to be there and watch in a fanzone.
I’ve been to Cardiff when the FA cup finals were played there and the atmosphere in the city is something else, even without being in the stadium.
I’m really hoping that it’s a good day for everyone and there’s no trouble (that really should go without saying) |

Can you imagine the outrage of 20,000 ticketless England fans descended on Glasgow if the game was being held there? You wouldn’t hear the end of it!
Let’s hope everyone is sensible, not too pissed, and it passes off trouble free!
May the best team win, as long as that’s England! |

The Tartan Army generally have an enviable reputation for good behaviour these days. Going back as far as 1998, the mayor of Bordeaux took out adverts in Scottish newspapers praising their behaviour and friendliness after being there for their World Cup group.
When they’ve been to Cardiff, they’ve been incredibly friendly - up there with the likes of Belgium.
That said, I don’t think mass gatherings of ticketless fans are right in these circumstances. |

We all know Nicoliar would be up in arms and demanding a replay ..... continously until Scotland win (could be a very long tourney) |

No we couldn't. Because they're not in Glasgow. Besides, we have our own rangers fans to cause the outrage.
Haven't heard of the tartan army causing trouble, they seem to be quite a fun bunch from what I can tell (unlike some other team's supporters who actually give their own team a bad rap) x |

I’m sure the ‘chair hurling’ championships will be taking place around 10pm tonight in Central London, rain or no rain no chair will be safe!
It’s gonna be a fun walk to the station after work this evening |

The hooligans who support Scottish teams actually sneer at the Tartan Army for their lack of Stone Island gear, friendliness etc. They don’t want to be associated with them on the whole.
A similar thing has happened in Wales, where the Cardiff/Swansea hatred made things difficult at times. However, the support is very outward looking and friendly, and extremely politically aware in general these days. |

8pm kickoff and I know a few Scots fans from who support my club team and the majority are gathering at Hyde park. However the ones I know are pissed as newts and kick of is at 8...I don’t think it will get nasty but In non covid Times you would be guaranteed a bit of rowdiness and the odd punch up.
Looking forward to the game tonight, got to see a lot of Aston Villa representation on both sides of the pitch |

With the numbers that are there and the alcohol that's consumed, there is always going to be an idiot somewhere in the midst...
I was at the Eiffel tower in 2007 with 20000 Scottish fans and this one guy Fae Dundee got a bit carried away but he was quickly shot down by the rest of us and his mates took him away. |

To be honest it’s probably not going to be that bad, there’s not going to be anywhere near the amount of England supporters in Central London ‘hanging around’ as there would've been if Wembley was at capacity and most of the time it’s the supporters from outside of London that were the ones that caused most of the problems - that’s not a generalisation just my experience - and that’s coming from a supporter of a South London team that are quite well known for off their field exploits …. And no I don’t mean the pathetic ‘ooooh look at us, we’re really naughty boys’ ultras of Crystal Palace |

Not just the hooligans. The reaction to the Scotland anthem earlier is exactly the reason why the whole bloody world doesn't want England to do well.
Go Scotland!!!!! England really aren't any better (coming from a non Scottish person) |

How many riders on the court and which quarter will the get a home goal run?"
No riders on the court, but there is a viral vid doing the rounds of a pissed up Jock staggering out in front of a motorcycle and getting knocked over (opposite Great Portland Street station I think?) |

Haven't people always loved to go away, hang out in the local bars, take in a change of scenery, make a physical show of their support by being there even if they've not got ticket for the venue?
As for covid times they can travel, they can go to bars, stay in hotels. Maybe you question the wisdom even when legal? I get that. But people want to get out and economy wants activity. Personally given current times the risks are acceptable and hence why within legal allowance. |
