How long do you leave messages up from those who you’ve messaged and they’ve read it but not replied?
I use a 12 hour rule of thumb that means if they haven’t replied 12 hours after they’ve read the message I delete it and move on. |

Once I send a message I never check it again, I pay it no mind, i dunno what’s going on in other peoples heads/ lives so it saves a lot of wasted energy. |

Why do you need to delete the messages?
Some people don’t use FAB on a daily basis, it not being a core activity to the sustainment of life (I know, unbelievable!).
I delete old messages if I’ve received a no thanks/rejection, and also Block that person/profile so I don’t embarrass myself by contacting then again in a few months (it happened before and I was pilloried).
Good luck and be patient

"I usually just go through a kinda weekly clear out of my inbox just to try and keep it somewhat organised"
It has to be done to make sure that you only want the promising people |

I delete my sent box so I wouldnt know. I don't demand a response within a certain amount of time, time doesn't matter between people you actually want to talk to |

Its the best way to do it though, otherwise people who aren't interested in you continually appear in searches/local updates etc. |

Delete it from where? Your sent items? You know that doesn't delete it the other end, right?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The best thing thi ssite can do is just remove the sent items box. Too many people spend too much time fretting over it. |

Why torture yourself and look in the sent items?
Apart from "who looked at me" it is the most un-needed element of fab.
Send a message? If you get a reply, it was read.
No reply? Does it matter if it was unread, read or deleted? The fact you haven't got a reply is all you need to know.
Same as the look at me.
Someone looked at you. Wow. If they were interested they'd wink or message. No wonder so many use stealth mode to avoid the "I noticed you looked at my profile, fancy meeting up?"
If someone likes the look of you, they'll let you know. |

Exactly this. And I avoid looking like a nagging stalker-cunt too! |

….
I delete my entire inbox every day or so, if someone messages back again I see the message history
If I’ve messaged someone back to say I’m not interested I immediately block them and delete their message. The reason I block them is that some are like dogs with a bone and keep coming back for another try.
If someone messages I check their profile before opening the message and if it’s a ‘not way Jose’ and not compatible with what I’m looking for (they’ll know because my profile is VERY clear what that is) I will delete their message unread.
If they message again I block their profile and delete their message unread again.
If I’ve been actively messaging someone then they stop messaging but still log in on a regular basis I block them as it’s obviously not going to go anywhere
Like most women on here I get tons of messages so I am very proactive in blocking profiles of people I am not interested in and having strict messaging filters set up.
This does help keep the inbox manageable, I like to focus on men I regularly message rather than those who are flitting by |
