It's price per litre of petrol and diesel that annoys me.

Because 1.99 looks cheaper than 2.00 so people think it’s a better deal

Does anyone actually think like that? Pretty sure I can see that it’s 2 quid.

Historically, the 1.99 price was to make sure the till got opened and sales proceeds lodged, as people would be waiting for their 1p change. These days, that has pretty much disappeared
