EUROS DAY 5 - Beware the Group of Death!

Another interesting day yesterday, Scotland losing out to a goal from the half way line, Slovakia shocking 10-man Poland and Sweden and Spain ending up with the first 0-0 of the Championships
Today sees the last Group to kick off, Group E and the infamous “Group of Death” containing Germany, World Cup holders France and current Euros holders Portugal. Oh and Hungary.
It’s a ridiculously tough group but the format of the tournament means that all 3 of the big guns could still very well progress to the knockout stages.
Only 2 games today - no 2pm offering - so my predictions are:
5pm ko: Hungary 0-1 Portugal
8pm ko France 2-2 Germany |

"How is your wall chart looking? Have you predicted the whole tournament in pencil?"
Yep, had the pencil, calculator and abacus out, worked out all the permutations, scenarios and likely outcomes and can conclude ...
IT’S COMING HOME!!! |

"Today should definitely be a good one,
Hungary 0 - Portugal 3
Is my prediction, I tend to agree that France v Germany will be a draw"
I went conservative with Hungary / Portugal as the game is in Budapest with a decent crowd in.. but then home advantage didn’t really help the Russians or Scots so you may well be right! |

Looking forward to tonight's games, good chance to see how they play as we'll be playing one of them if we come top.
I'm going to go for...
Hungary 1-3 Portugal
France 2-0 Germany |

Yep I’m hoping for Portugal to come 2nd if (big if, long way to go!) England win Group D - not an easy game but probably the lesser of the 3 evils! |

"Portugal beat Hungary comfortably by 3 goals to nil
And in a far less attractive game Germany and France drew 1-1
All eyes on wales tomorrow "
Are you from the future? |

I think we will win our group now after taking care of Croatia. So I’m hoping Germany take 2nd place in their group. If we are gonna win it we have to beat the best anyway. So let’s have the Germans, it would be special to play them at wembley and knock them out |

Full marks to Mssrs Tea Monkey and Single ex cuck for their 3-0 prediction to Portugal in game one, incredible it was still 0-0 entering the 84th minute!
Now the BIG one! Who’s gonna win France v Germany!? |

Can they both lose?
Actually as a neutral this is THE game from the Group stage (other than England, of course) that I think most of us have been looking forwards to! Let’s hope footballs the winner! |
