Was pushing my motorbike up a foot path earlier while sat on it. Engine was running and just giving me a bit of help. Was stopped and copper was ok. Said not issuing any penalties etc, but wandered if he could still issue anything after hes filled his paperwork out at ststion |

If the engine is running and you are on the vehicle on a footpath prohibited to motor powered transportation then you are indeed braking the law.
3 points 80 UK pounds fine if he wants to be difficult.

I get that, but bikes poorly, and was taking to garage. Was that slow a mobility scooter put 100 yards on me in about a minute. |

Regardless of speed the engine was running and you need to be in control of said vehicle.
You need to push the bike without keys in the ignition or you could be deemed to be in a position to ride on a prohibited footpath
It's the same with people parking on the roadside with the engine running.
If the wheels are not in rotation you are parked. So committing an offence if not allowed to stop there.

The clutch is that bad it was virtually impossible to ride. But i was running with it then getting a bit of bite for a few seconds then back to the legs. Hence the scooter leaving me for dead |

Whilst some coppers can be c*nts, in this instance I very much doubt if any further action will be taken, they’re not gonna create additional paperwork back at the station for themselves with some retrospective charge in your absence if they gave a verbal warning, to be honest I expect they’ve already forgotten about it and moved on to bigger fish to fry. |

Not worth worrying about. I doubt he'd do anything now, they usually get a big notebook thing out and give you a chit with instructions on how to pay fines etc |

He did seem ok to be fair. Said when he got call of motorbike being "ridden" on path and no helmet he expected some chavvy teens on a crosser. Realised when he seen bike, and i told him about my other one, and how i acted that i wasnt bejng a bellend, and stop being a lazy git and push it. Pushing a 1000cc older sports bike full of fuel for over a mile is gona ache tomorrow |
