I know zero about them we are both total technophobes and pretty useless so easy to use smart watch thingy recommendations please.

If she own any iphone there is the health app already installed and part of the os. All is there for her to use

I've got a fitbit inspire HR, it's one of the older models but it does what I need it too and it's much cheaper than most.

Yep. I have the same one. I got mine off eBay and it was quite cheap. I've never had an issue with it and it reminds me how unfit I am at regular intervals.

I have a Fitbit versa 2 that I use for everyday. It is great at steps, heart rate, sleep analysis etc.

It doesn't have built in gps so I also have a Garmin Forerunner for running.

I had the Garmin first but it's really really limited as a smart watch, I wanted a nice crossover and the Fitbit has been great for that does all the health stuff but also has phone notifications etc and isn't as bulky as the Garmin.

I bought a random one for Mr N from Amazon. It was about £30. It does everything he wants it to do.

I've got a random one too. It tells me to stand up and move at the most inconvenient times
