Partial solar eclipse

I believe there is a partial solar eclipse this morning from 10 a.m. till about 12:30 p.m..

It will be really hard to see with the naked eye, and maybe also dangerous to look straight at it. If you have the right equipment to see it though it's got to be worth a look!

I believe the moon is passing partially in front of the sun.

It's really cloudy here in the East Midlands unfortunately. I'm always up for checking out these kind of things though. I find them fascinating.

Blue sky with a little cloud here in London. I'll have my welding mask on while laying in my garden.

It's a bit cloudy here but I'm going to try and see it, I'll do the hole in paper or a bowl of water thing if the clouds clear.

London / Essex borders

Mostly grey and cloudy in essex, but but I saw somewhere that a kitchen colander works really well to project eclipse images onto a wall

Brownie points to those who know.

I remember a partial eclipse years ago winter climbing on Ben Nevis, we were in thick cloud making our way through old avalanche debris concentrating hard on foot placement as that's tough ground. I heard a raven calling from nearby, looked up and realised how dark it had got. With the darkness and the only thing you could see being tumbled blocks of ice and the sound of the wind and the raven it suddenly felt very much like I'd walked into some Norse myth untill I remembered the eclipse. Probably the closest I've felt to spooky.

Hello right back at you lovely!

It is cloudy in North Hertfordshire atlthough occasional gaps in the cloud are letting me keep at it through sunglasses which is probably not very safe so please don't do that.

It looks a little bit like Pac-Man although you can actually see the moon rather than just the shadow

Far too cloudy here. Which is a real shame.

Cloudy here too, so not expecting things to change in the remaining time.
