I got a fun meme about and I would say that I am a critical thinker, it is a person who is hungry for more information and who like to question things whilst the other one just follow the flow |

"No one is going to say that they’re a mainstream normiss.
Everyone thinks that they’re a critical thinker but in my experience, most aren’t "
I’m very pragmatic, probably too much so, and I think the two are sort of linked. |

This is extremely true. I've always said the majority of people (and often include myself) try to project the image they feel they are, but very few ever live up to it. |

I've worked as an analyst for over 30 years, taking data and see if what the company wants it to mean is true or if there just allowing themselves to make facts lead to there presumption.
Generally the facts lead else where.
Never believe anything unless I've seen it, proved it or tried it. |

100% this
The number of people who proclaim themselves critical thinkers and then come out with tired conspiracy theories, or political rants that come exactly from the pages of a newspaper, prove it.
People also aren't really "critical thinkers", in the sense that it's something they do perfectly all the time in all situations.
It should be a tool you can use, not a personal identifier |

Question everything, believe nothing
I like to question all sides. If I'm in the mood I'll point out inconsistencies in a point of view (eg when someone says no one should be reduced to a single aspect of their person then in another post says all 'bankers are wankers'). |

I think it very much depends on the subject and circumstances. Else why do we have experts we listen to? Or why do gossip magazines exist?
My job is mainly as a researcher. I know full well the level I look into things in work is not comparable to the levels I do outside work simply because it isn't needed in the vast majority of cases.

I’d say researcher and critical thinker.
However more than happy to be led by experts in their field. I don’t think that makes me mainstream.
As much as we research topics, people spend their entire lives dedicated to knowing the finer details.
As long as you have researched who your listening to and have made educated decisions. I genuinely don’t understand how people just go with the flow. |

"It has its place but it’s just one technique, Paretto and Ockham's razor are other tools for thinking that some analysts don’t use and should "
It easier using your brain and your own thoughts. I’m a critical thinker, and leaves me wondering a, what you are on about and b, does this guy think he looks clever.
Guess what, I used a simple technique and it’s pretty damn accurate |

I believe the biggest obstacle to critical thinking is bias. Most people who believe they're critical thinkers are only actually critical of things they don't already have an opinion on or disagree with. It's far harder to be critical of the ideas we like.

To my detriment I live up to it, who what when why what purpose does this narrative outcome serve, thinking globally cross referencing qaulitive and qauntative research amd data, throw in some bias inc mine, questipn both consciousamd sub conscious, reflection... I could go on? |

Pareto - 80/20 eg you wear 20% of your clothes 80% of the time
Occams razor- chooses simple because they're easier to test |

Depends, if you like her and thinks she's super awesome and would agree with anything she says then possibly, that's for you to reflect and think about |

Critical thinker in fact I class my affliction as being a terminal overthinker.
I want to know how everything works and why and who made it and to what end
Ahhhhhh |

Is anyone going to explain what a ‘mainstream normiss’ is, or is that a typo, cause I can’t find anything on the interweb, maybe the OP can explain what it is ?! |

Until someone does, I'm going to assume it's one of William the Conquerer's unmarried daughters.
But then, shouldn't it take a capital 'N'? |

Critical thinker, on appropriate points - there's little point in misdirection of attention and energy on things that are unimportant to the state of irrelevance.
I'm sure a lot of conspiracy theorists view themselves as critical out of the box thinkers but they typically follow some more sheep, being contrarian as a bias. |

Yes. There's a huge difference between critical thinking and denialism. |
