The ancients used to tell a tale, older than the hills and trees....
A man was trying to woo a woman, they were walking through a coconut grove (originally known as a coladtree). He stopped to crack one open and they enjoyed the milk. Further on they came to a pinapple tree (or Pinatree as they called them way back yonder). they shared the juicy sweet pinapple, when some of the juice ran into the coconut milk.
It started to pour with rain.
The lady then poured in a bucket load of rum because that's the only way she could get through a night with that creep. |

Bailey’s have launched their own version..!! Tried it at the weekend! If it had been a blindfold test I’d have sworn it was a sample pot from the B&Q paint aisle!!!
(Never trust a lady who, when left alone in a room with a lampshade, doesn’t try it on!!) |

The piña colada hails from San Juan, Puerto Rico where it was created by bartender Ramón “Monchito” Marrero at the Caribe Hilton in 1954. He mixed up a fruity blend of rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice and boom. Everyone’s favorite summer treat was created. |
