Hi, sorry to her this. I have no knowledge of epilepsy but there are charities you could contact that would be able to give to advice, I'm sure there must be support groups as well.
Just know that you aren't alone.
All the best. |

Oh OP I'm sorry. I was 14 and I remember how scary it all was. If and when you know your triggers, try and figure out a way to control those.
When you are on the right medication and dosage for you, it'll get a lot easier. Make sure you sleep enough. And the epilepsy nurses are an absolute godsend for issues and advice. The epilepsy action website is really helpful.
Sending all the hugs!! |

I had epilepsy from my teens, brought on by nerves. Would have seizures. One Saturday I started acting weird towards my parents and on Sunday, thought it was Saturday and had no recollection of the previous day. I didn’t pass out and convulse like some people do. My eyes went into my head and would last minutes with no recollection, sometimes I would go into a seizure mid conversation and carry on from where l left off. By the time I was 18, the epilepsy had weakened and I had less seizures. I had chemotherapy at 20 and I stopped having the seizures. Some people grow out of them, some are to do with nerves, the more serious cases are kept under control with medication. |

It’s a case of getting the meds right so you don’t seize but aren’t knocked flat! Bit of trial and error but lamotrigine has been around a while and we know how it works. It’s like any condition (diabetes, asthma) - can’t be cured but can be controlled well. Hope all goes well for u - happy if u want to chat.

ive had it since having a head injury in a car crash, its managable, its all about knowing what triggers you into a fit, i cant do my job anymore, one i loved, but you have to stay positive, there are planty off drugs that can help, if one doesnt agree with you, dont stop taking them, go back to the doctor |
