You'll be able to play it on your old tv but you won't get anywhere near the quality that you would get with a new tv (but not just any newer tv)

You need a new tv that supports 4k (8 in some cases) and Hdmi2.1

I'm not an expert and someone might no different

You might wanna see how available a PS5 is before you splash out on a new tele. I know that PS5s and the new Xboxs have been really hard to get hold of since they came out.

It was pre order only just recently. They were literally selling out before they had even received stock. It might be different now though.

Don't try getting a ps5 online, better going into shops and asking if they have any as they're not putting all stock online to stop scalpers. I know a few people that have done this

Ps5 miles better than the ps4, its a shame you want increase the HDD space just yet, but its light years ahead of the ps4, its almost a PC.

TV Wise, go for 4k or better 2.1hdmi, id stick with a screen size between 20 and 32inches. 24 and 28 are considered best by most gamers.

Depends on how your going to use the ps5

If it’s single player most 4K TVs will do

If your mostly multiplayer they the only 2 specs you should be looking for is

VRR and 120hz

And the reason I have left hdmi 2.1 off the list is if the tv is 4K 120hz and VRR then it must have hdmi 2.1

It’s slim pickings in the 120hz and VRR category

But trust me it’s a must or you just be left behind in the dust wondering how the person seen you so fast

The gap is unbelievable been siting with a 120hz 8k VRR tv from 2019 and can first hand say that it’s a game changer in terms off multiplayer

If it’s single player then most 4K screen will do and no need for 120hz or VRR or hdmi 2.1

As when you put games in to 120hz and VRR you take a hit graphics to accommodate 120hz

So if playing single player you be in the 60hz mode to get better graphics witch 90% off 4K TVs to day do

Choose your screen size with care.

First work out how far away you'll be sat from the screen. Once you know that I'd suggest a screen HEIGHT no smaller than 1 sixth that distance (ie if your sat 3m away then a screen height of 50cm minimum). Then also consider the other way - I'd suggest not being any closer to the screen that it's WIDTH. You won't be able to see the whole screen at once.

This is all to do with "visual acuity". It's usually to ensure you can read text clearly, not really necessary for gameplay but I guess you'll want to see detail clearly! I'd use the 1/6th rule as a minimum, and you could go up to 1/4 if you really wanted, but I wouldn't go any lower.

£400 might get you something small (43") - Richer Sounds have some reasonable 4k screens. £100 you're looking at secondhand.

Got my PS5 this week. Followed a Twitter account that alerted me to a Game Drop. Brought a bundle within 15 mins.

Running it on a 4K TV would recommend.

An expert will no doubt appear but I very much doubt that at £200 it would be ok.

My mate got a ps5 and I'm sure he was £1k to get a tv (not monitor) that could show him what the ps5 could do properly.

As with most technology the £1k tv will probably be affordable in the jan sales

Good luck getting it sorted though

"If the tv can't do 4k@120hz then you will be missing out "

Not really if he’s a single player why would you downgrade graphics to run 120hz in a single player game

Makes 0 sense as there’s no benefits 120hz single player

Yes In multipler online games he be at a big disadvantage but if they don’t play multiplayer then they have 0 use for it

It’s the same as these tv that are slap on hdmi 2.1 tags and bump the price £300

But tv only dose 4K 60hz

4K 60hz can be done at hdmi 2.0b so whare the need for the hdmi 2.1 port

Marketing gimmicks to scam the general unknowing public that’s all that is
