Question for the women...

Im working with a 28yo woman who is reasonably intelligent when ive seen her away from work, but when shes at her desk she puts on an act of a stupid character that's petty, immature and ignorant.

Is it something women in particular do and if so, why? It must be hard work, 40 hrs a week to behave like that

Maybe she does it to try and fit in for what ever reason.

And no not all women do that either.

Perhaps she adjusts to her environment.

Not all women do that, I certainly don't.

Maybe she's trying to fit in, act the way she thinks people think she should.

Ask her!

I once worked with a guy who answered every question with "ooh, I don't know, but when you find out let me know".

It initially worked well for him - the rest of us did all the work and he just coasted (can't expect him to do anything when he doesn't know how anything works).

He was the first person out of the door when the company made people redundant - there's only so long you can claim ignorance.

She's offending you with her behaviour while she's taking calls?

I'm surprised you asked if all women do it.

In what way is she petty immature and ignorant?

I'm like that at work because I hate the work and the management is incompetent.

I'm the same out of work though. No intelligence here.

It's definitely a manipulation technique. Used to manage a calm centre myself and seen a lot of people (not just women) do it to carry favouritism with the bosses and the call distribution desk.

" In what way is she petty immature and ignorant? "

Talking in a baby voice, one example : asking me "what's 7 times 9" out the blue,

Showing me how to use a telephone without asking her to, sulking, ignoring me if i need information for tasks, lately she's been in a huff fo4 some reason, staring at me and making it obvious she's avoiding me.

I dumb down at work, I dont need to be high achieving there and I'm not aiming to climb the ladder there. There are things that I COULD do, but there are people that will do it for me. I'll also do things for others to offset that though.

So one person you know does this who just happens to be a woman so you think women will know why she does it?

Can you show me your qualifications that enable you to rate someone's intelligence please.

It's like groundhog day, pass me the 1940's someone.

I worked with a man like this. There were certain things he just couldn't do because after all he was just a helpless man . It was a ploy to get people (women) to do things he didn't want to, some of my colleagues fell for it

Yeah that sounds like her lol.

I worked with a guy who was flat out lazy, judt kept skiving off the toilets whenever any work came in. Manager just let him do it. When i did it for a genuine toilet visit i got a feking rollicking. Its the only job i walked out of. Im sure a skive ass feker like him would be a big help! Lol
