"Can a style guru please advise what glasses should suit my face, I can't even work out what shape head (I asked a mate and they said fat) lmao
Which is supposed to tell you what suits ! Lol "
Specsavers have a facility on their website, which lets you upload a picture and try them on, they give advice about face shape and styles. |

Cheers, the face shapes make it sound like it's obvious and easy to determine what you are but I always think I'm 3 or 4 |

"And don't get me started on the arguments to get the prescription you've paid for because they want you to buy from them
I understand it's business but you shouldn't have to argue to get it.
"
I get my eyes tested there, free, as I’m NHS, then send my prescription and what I want to a lovely man in East London who makes them for me much cheaper! |

Do you think there's a glasses divide?
Those who have worn glasses all their life, blind as a bat without and struggle to find a frame they like which will support/manage the prescription even after paying the extra to have them thinned down as thin as is possible and have to go through it all over again to create a pair of sunglasses...
V
I can have a choice of any frames, in fact I'll get 3 or 4 pairs, different styles for different occasions.
I just have them for reading, these from the pound shop work well.

I'm of the former category
Total pain in the arse when it comes to choosing specs, as I have to put contact lenses in to see what my mug looks like
I do my best though and flirt shamelessly with the optician staff to get their opinions |

I've worn glasses since 11. Started off just for reading but now been fulltime since about 18. Not sure if there's a glasses divide but I know when I've claimed unemployment benefit I've had the majority of the cost back.
As for seperate sunglasses you don't need them as I have a covering which makes them go dark in sunlight (although it does have to be direct sunlight not through a window). |

But those reacto-light ones never go dark enough for sunlight & they also stay a little tinted when you sit by a window.

I wear them but never when I go out, I always wear lenses. Although people say I look nice in them I still don’t feel properly dressed for going out with them on. They’re more an at home thing to me. |

Remember the days of here's you choices...pink, blue, beige, same frame.
I don't wear contacts, but i do get mascara all over the mirror!
I like a good frame on a man.
I don't like 'take your glasses off I want to see what you look like without them'... I look like I've just left! haha!
Takes me months, will these cross my dress styles |

And its a weird tint, creeps me out!
Although I do have to ask if I'm still wearing my sunglasses and let people know I don't think I'm a diva wearing my sunglasses indoors, I've either forgotten I have them on or I left the house without bringing my normal ones!

They are the last thing I remove before sexual antics otherwise they'd get mucky. Can't stand dirty lenses especially when it's a smudge just in your eyeline. |

I got my first varifocals 3 years ago and I took to them straight away. They did advise I go for the top of the range ones, as they're easier to adjust to. But they're Hella expensive! Almost £300 just for the lenses - and that's not even thinned down or with special coatings!

I did get the posh ones with the coatings etc etc but I hated them - I had to sit bolt upright to watch tv - if I slouched I couldn’t see - need to be able to slouch for tv right? When I went back with them I got £170 back that I wasn’t expecting - I’d thought they’d be oh right well it’s your own hard luck if they don’t suit you - but the cash back was a bonus xx
I buy my posh frames from eBay - a shop that sells last seasons stuff, ex display - I got some Ted Baker ones that were only £15 and sent them to Glasses Complete to re-glaze with my prescription (just £30)… swanky glasses for less than £50 |

When I went back with them I got £170 back that I wasn’t expecting - I’d thought they’d be oh right well it’s your own hard luck if they don’t suit you - but the cash back was a bonus xx
I buy my posh frames from eBay - a shop that sells last seasons stuff, ex display - I got some Ted Baker ones that were only £15 and sent them to Glasses Complete to re-glaze with my prescription (just £30)… swanky glasses for less than £50
does that make me look scroogey that comment? … just I have … well … probably 6 or possibly 10 pairs of glasses because I like them to go with stuff lol "
Not at all! If i had a prescription low enough I'd do exactly thr same! |

I got my first varifocals 3 years ago and I took to them straight away. They did advise I go for the top of the range ones, as they're easier to adjust to. But they're Hella expensive! Almost £300 just for the lenses - and that's not even thinned down or with special coatings!
No more posh frames for me. £69 ones from speccie savers so I can take advantage of the BOGOF for my sunnies. X
I did get the posh ones with the coatings etc etc but I hated them - I had to sit bolt upright to watch tv - if I slouched I couldn’t see - need to be able to slouch for tv right? Varifocals are the devil! I couldn’t get to grips with mine at all - had to go back to the constant swapping xx
Only got mine this year. First week was awful but by the second week it started to settle and now I don't notice. I did try for over a week but even the little shift between the two lense strengths made me feel nauseous and headachy x
I did get the headaches but no nausea and I almost gave up after a week but kept with it. They are not for everyone though.
