"Op do you know what middle class is? It is people who are neither rich nor poor. Why would they be either of those things you mentioned in particular?"
I think the idea is desirable for the class below and an embarrassment for the class above. |

"Everyone is middle class now, everyone goes to uni, buys their home, drives shiny new cars and no one works down the pit anymore. "
The whole nomenclature of the so called class system needs a serious modernisation. The lines have become so blurred now, that the old definitions are largely out of touch with how things are now.

"I’m working class. Not poor - yet. Just I got drawn into certain values which I now find worthless and I hate the demonisation of so called ‘chavs’."
What values would they be. I don’t know what constitutes class now, as the poster just above has said. It isn’t quite so defined now. |

The idea of middle class has changed. It used to define a certain social level how ever we now have educated professionals who are asset poor but knowledge and skill rich. While the value of self employed manual trades has increased often making them asset rich but less engaged and invested in knowledge and the application of tec.
Thus the definition of middle class must be revised to encompass different types of wealth and social enablement. Hence terms like professional class, management class and trades and merchant class may be more relavent |

"I don't see people as a class.
Me neither. I don’t think class in that context has ever crossed my mind to be honest! "
Exactly the same her, class is irrelevant to me and I’d never judge anyone on it |

That is what I meant. Class delineates the person is refined as an upper class lady ought to be. |

Oh I don’t know. Inequality is growing. And it’s mainly in “working class” poorer areas and it’s quite easy to see. Like it or not most of us would have made subjective assumptions about someone’s class without it even realising it. A lot of people are shallow, naive and blind lol |
