I'm reflecting on what the pandemic taught me and I'd say this -

wake up every single day and make the most of it!

what about you? has it changed you, your opinions or maybe something more fundamental?

It has completely turned me off going back to the old routine of going into an office every day, having proved that it isn’t necessary. The number of times I got sick from people coming into the office sick ... I haven’t even had a cold in the past 15 months.

Has also made me more effective at getting out and about to do other things and prioritise them, with commuting time stripped from my daily routine.

I know I will really enjoy and relish travel when it is an option again, but the novelty will pass on time.

My new approach to office life etc is permanent though

It's made me realise I want a change of career,

I've worked in healthcare for years now and feel totally deflated and disillusioned with it all

How do you personally make the most of every day?

well, for right now - I'm doing simple excersizes stretches, eating properly.

reaching out to friends i haven't spoken out to in ages, being helpful, being friendly...reminding myself that i dont have to be perfect - each tiny step is a step in the right direction.

that kind of thing..

The most its taught me is how selfish people are, like all those lives lost over the past year have meant nothing.

Even with restrictions still in place, people don't give a damn, sex it seems means more!

Manchester (she/her)

It's made me stronger and more empowered in my convictions. More convinced that I need to be more front line and active in working against the mess out there

It hasn't taught me anything

But I appreciate the slower pace of life it brought.

I won't go back to a job I hate - it's made me realise that it's possible to live with less.

Time is more important than money.

I was front line for nearly 20 yrs - broke me..but I'll go to the grave knowing I did make a difference.

it's difficult, sometimes thankless, sometimes it'll break you - but without people brave enough to step up - there would be complete chaos...good luck x

Different front line in this case - more, openly and actively engaged in making change, rather than just doing the right thing and donating money

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

It's shown me how gullible people can be.

How they trust in officials that lie to them repeatedly.

How easy it is to manipulate people and scare them to death to the point they rejoice when their freedoms are taken away on a moment's notice.

Similar to this. Actually enjoyed lockdown and the more relaxed pace.

It's made me slow down some, though not really improved my sleep. It's made me realise how truly fucking horrible some people on earth are, that they honestly don't give a shit about people dying , all they think about is their own personal inconvenience. It's made me realise that there are some people that are even more fucking disgusting who see people dying as nothing but an opportunity to further their own selfish purposes and/or embezzle vast amounts of public funds. It's made me realise that there are some truly amazing people in the world that have given time, effort, emotion, sacrifice to a common cause of trying to protect the majority against an invisible enemy.

It's made me doubt the future of humanity, to mourn the death of science and common sense, to despise the rise of anti-science and stupidity.

It has made me put on weight, feel unhealthy and worsened my depression.

It has made me miss my friends, but know that I would rather everyone be safer in the long term than be endangered by failing to control infection.

Am I changed? We are all changed every day. I'm older, wiser, sadder. I wonder if I could have done a few things differently when I was younger, been a bit more selfish, had a bit more fun in life, maybe had more sexual experiences. Understood my gender identity sooner. Then I think that I've perhaps done okay, I've tried to do more than just look out for myself over the last 18 months, I could have made choices that were far worse.

So all in all, I think that I'm okay being who I am, with whatever changes the pandemic have inflicted. Someone very wise once said to me, "you have to be yourself, everyone else is already taken".
