Yeah good luck getting one for MSRP
Im really hoping my poor Vega 56 doesnt break or im pretty fucked. I could even sell this Vega for nearly a £100 more than what i bought it for on Ebay, its crazy
I have seen a thumbnail for a review of it by GamersNexus though and it doesnt look promising
The GPU market atm is an utter disgrace, performance for money spent is plummiting and abysmal tbh
Tbh I wouldnt touch Nvidea with a barge pole anyway as i dislike their practice as bussiness |

My GPU only works fine for about an hour of gaming, after that it becomes very laggy.
I might even buy a bot for the 3070ti launch. This is just ridiculous. |

Sounds like a thermal issue tbh, or possibly something else causing it. Hard to say without seeing it or any logging data. As it could be alot of things not even your GPU. What GPU is it? The Nvidea 9 series is a still pretty capable espcially the 980ti and they have been largely untouched by the scalper market.

970gtx. It has to be the GPU, as I've got a new CPU which doesn't hit 60c even.
I did replace the thermal paste on.GPU but didn't help |

What games are you playing? Only thing i can think of off the top of my head is that your VRAM is being saturated as the 970 is pretty low on VRAM. Think it has like 3gb.
CPU wise it maybe getting hot and then dropping clocks to stay at 60c but i dont think so unless its a like a Ryzen chip but im pretty sure mine starts dropping clock speed at 75c not 60c |

I recommend you look for a used cheap 980ti as a possible stop gap. It will still destroy your 970 and play most modern games at high settings ish at 1080/1440p |

I'm just putting the whole thing on hold until I can upgrade the whole rig to be honest.
Im not a super expert, I have my friend to ask for all the big issue stuff, like heart attack moments when all fans in the whole case stopped working... Still not quite sure why!
However it does "worry" me about finding a decent gpu in the current market. |

It's a ryzen 5600x with an 240mm AIO and 7 additional 120mm fans in the system. The most I've seen it hit was 45c so it's definitely not the CPU
But yeah the 970 has 4gb (3.5gb usable) vram.
I was thinking of getting a 1660 for the time being but I'm not paying £350 for that GPU |

Thats pretty unbalanced lol!
If you can find a Vega 56 for an ok price you can undervolt them and get them running quite sweet. My 56 was only like 200 points in 3DMark off my friends watercooled 1080 he had at the time, and i payed £240 for this as an ex demo from Scan. But yeah depends on what people are selling them at now as i have seen them go now for 300 plus |

"Exactly, I'm not that desperate yet to pay £300-400 for used mid range card or a low end new one
I pray to God I can get the 3070ti June 10th."
If it is actually worth it that is
the fact we are getting close to a grand for are in reality mid range GPUs is getting stupid and this was happening before the chip shortage, Nvidea fucked the market so hard as they had no competition from AMD until recently. Now Nvidea have set the bar so high on prices people now see them as "Normal". Now AMD seee people paying those prices so just copy Nvideas pricing mostlly
Top tier cards 4/5 years ago such as the 980ti and Fury X where only 5-600 quid, infact my Fury X was £480 and thats with extremely expensive HBM memory |

24 CPU cores @ 3 GHz, 48 GB ram, OS on SSD, lost track of how much HDD capacity. Oh, and £10 worth of graphics card. Think that the last computer game I bought was the original Half-Life. My system does everything that I want it to do though, chiefly huge system compilations within seconds that would once have taken days or weeks... |
