You receive an abusive message, click to reply and informed sender has blocked you. Go to block sender, click on block, site goes to Block List page yet 'person' you have just blocked does not appear. Any suggestions? Is it somebody already removed by admin? If not, if it's somebody already on your list, how did they send in first place?

I think if they don't appear on your block list it means Admin blocked them for some reason. Maybe the person was sending lots of abusive messages and loads of people reported them. |

I think that if you report someone it doesn't show on your block list. I may be wrong here, but I'm sure that's what happened when I had to report someone for being an idiot. |

My understanding is they only appear on your block list if you block first.
If its because admin did it because you reported them or they block you first it doesn't show on your list. |

I can see people on my block list that blocked me before I blocked them so it's not that.
So either the admin block thing is correct or the other possibility OP is if they left the site they'd disappear from your block list - but you'd be able to tell that by whether their abusive mail had disappeared without you deleting it. |
