If someone needs to find out information not previously known to them then it has to be looked up , so wether it be by phone , laptop , book or whatever it doesn't make a person less intelligent because they looked it up .
A thirst for knowledge is a good thing , how the knowledge is obtained is irrelevant imo |

Very much this.
Potentially there is a case for since we always have that info at our fingertips in a way people never did before, we have less reason to absorb and fully remember such information.
However as said, it is a learning tool that is to be used, just as a book or ancient scroll. It is a vast and pretty much limitless space of knowledge we can learn from like never before.
I am able to learn skills, at my fingertips, that my parents and grandparents would never have even been able to have the opportunity to even know existed nevermind learn for themselves. |

Smartphones give you easy access to almost the sum of human learning.
I use mine to look at pictures of cats and get into arguments with strangers. And porn. |
