Have you thought about getting a static caravan, but just putting posters of different scenery in the windows ever week so it feels like you’re travelling about ?! |

Here's what I've just done, I've bought an immaculate, large six year old, low milage, ex mobility wheelchair adapted vehicle, which has a lowered floor, so no height problem, and converted it myself. You pick up used wheelchair adapted vehicles for a song because, there's very little resale market for them. Total job cost me around £6k. A lot of flash for not much cash, as we used to say in the motor trade. |

Buy German. Hymer/Burstner/Carthago/Niessman and a couple of others
ideally with the Merc 5-cyl 2.7 litre diesel engine.
NEVER British...
The build quality of the German vans of that era [you should be able to get a fab van from around 2003-2007 for your budget]
is second to none, and better even than those manufacturer's current models, at 4-5 times the price.
Don't worry about satellite TV or solar panels. A Firestick for £40 and a Honda gas generator for about £900 will let you stay off-grid for as long as you wish.
