I remember being forced to eat cheese even after I told them I didn’t like cheese.
It was grated cheese so I tried spreading it around my plate to make it look like I’d ate some but we had a really nasty dinner lady and she still made me eat it  |

I used to hate school dinners in my junior school. I used to be made to sit there with a congealing plate of meat that was mostly gristle and fat, over boiled potatoes and lumpy gravy in front of me until the end of the break. I very rarely got to have pudding, which was the only thing I enjoyed. There were a few exceptions - fish and chips, shepherds pie. At senior school I used to take a packed lunch. |

In my Grammar School when I went there it was a brand new building and the Music Department was in a separate building so the noise didn’t disturb the other classes. Our music teacher brought her Labrador dog to school and he used to fart quite often. |

My favourite was rounders for tea, imagine a scotch egg but instead of the egg it was baked beans.
Saturday tea was the ‘unhealthy’ day was always cold meats, chips & salad followed by a fresh cream and jam finger doughnut |
