Is there such a thing as a thread being too big to comment on?
Do you ever look at a thread and think, “I’m not reading all of that!” and just go find a shorter one to post on?
Conversely; can a thread be too short to get your point across before it gets lost in the hubbub?
Is there a Goldilocks length for you? |

"When I join in and it's the last comment....and it's a great comment.. and the thread closes...and no one gets to see it...oh the tragedy ...boo boo "
There should be a Jerry Springer style summation on threads that reach 175. Just for closure |

"I usually just read the title and comment. I rarely read all the comments. Especially if it’s long. "
If it’s too long I don’t even bother, especially if there are long post and replies going on.
If it’s shorter I might read the whole thing, just to make sure it’s not gone off on a tangent about penguins |

There is the danger though that you’ll post something really funny and silly and it’s a totally serious thread! Or post a really serious opinion and it’s all just silly comments . I’ve done that a few times! |

I look at the threads where I’m mostly to get a reply and quote, if it’s a long thread with lots of people doing intellectual wheelies on a highbrow topic, I’ll leave it, I think there’s no way I’m gonna get a reply and quote on here, I’m clearly out of my depth and know nothing about the subject, so I’ll scroll on by and wait for a thread on fish or cheese so then I can horn shoe some puns in, then I wait for the reply and quotes to roll in, you just have to pick your threads Caerphilly. |

No thread too long, no thread too short. If I've thought of something to say I will comment.
Long threads I'll look at the comments from the bottom up to get a gist of what is being said. Shorter threads I'll skim read. |

What gets my Goat's cheese is when people post a long post, then someone else adds a bit more to it, then someone else etc, which is ok, but somebody then quotes the entire lot, just to put a at the end of it |

Haha, classic. What about the first comment on a thread that reply and quotes the OPs epic opening comment, it’s literally there right above your comment, we can see it. |

Depends on the OP. There's been some good threads lately so I read all the posts.
If the OP is something like "I just ate a bag of crisps" I know it's not worth reading further. |

What if it says ‘I just ate a bag of crisps and inside the packet was a note, I opened up the note and there was a phone number, so I called the number, a woman answered, we got chatting and it turns out she worked at the crisp factory, we ended up bonding over our love for all the things jazz fusion. But how do I talk her into swinging as she’s very tradition in other areas ?’ |
