It's the bank holiday and hopefully it's not going to be a washout. As a kid my family would always go on a day trip on bank holidays. So describe your favourite day UK day trip. Or even your worst ones where you get stuck in traffic for hours on end  |

Can I answer that next week? I'm going to a seaside and to see the seals hopefully  . I want to go barefoot, splash in the sea.. aim for a low tide.. pick seashells and Bury in a warm sand my bum  bliss! |

Bakewell is so lovely for a little day trip, I'm going next week and I can't wait. Lots of lovely areas to walk about with wonderful architecture, nice foodie places. Perfect.
I also really love the Lake District, I have many fond childhood memories of trundling up various hills, pub lunches with our dogs excitedly yapping away and flasks of disgustingly sweet tea and homemade scones. |

That sounds lovely Meli. My childhood day trips were generally to the beach. We have a beach near where I grew up where you could park your car on the actually beach. Used be all my mams side of the family, uncles, grandparents and great grandad who always bought us a 99. And then fish and chips on the way home, was lovely as |
