Yes, I spelt that correctly!
You’ve been entered into an open inanimate object throwing competition, however, instead of wellies, hammers, shot puts or cabers, you get to choose the item that you’re throwing.
The catch is that you’re getting marked on the weight of the object, how far you throw it and its proportion to you.
For example, if you’re 5’, weigh the same as a wet towel, choose a car, then move it an inch you’ll score high. If you’re 6’4”, built like Annie and do the same, you’ll get fewer points.
So think carefully folks, choose your tossing implement wisely... |

I’d need the formula for point scoring to properly decide my item.
Also in your example of the car, does pushing it and it rolling count? Or does it need to be thrown.
I’m not that competitive I promise |

"I can throw square hay bales onto a trailer during harvest. Not sure of height but considerable higher than me, which I guess isn't that high
Not bad, what kind of weight are we talking? "
Had to look it up but between 16 and 25kg. |

I’m embarrassed about how much thought I’m putting into this but I’m going back to basics and say a chariot wheel just like Celtic warrior Culchulainn did back in 2000BC |

Iron rimmed, wooden frame?
I’m not going to allow rolling as part of the score though |

Wooden framed with part of a wooden axle attached for gripping purposes. The technique would be similar to modern day hammer throwing so a few spins and then launch |

Wellie wanging is dangerous ....... played this at a sports day with children and parents. When giving the demonstration I hit myself in face with said wellie
Therefore I’m making myself exempt from any further wanging competitions |

Can I choose where to stand and does vertical distance count?
Can I choose to throw something with wings? Like a goose, or a glider...How would that affect the points?
(you can probably see where I'm going with this)

the sheer difficulty in achieving that is something in itself! |

Weight carries as many points as distance. If you want to sacrifice one for the other, that’s up to you!
A goose isn’t allowed though |

"I will throw a helium balloon into space.
Balloon weight (in a vacuum) 2 grams.
Me, 6'1 and 12 Stone.
Distance 380,000 feet."
Interesting choice. Of course, if it doesn’t make it or comes down close to you, you’re stuffed |

Right, I'm throwing 43,000 helium balloons tied to a microlite off the top of a very tall thing in the general direction of the jetstream...
My theory is the balloons will take it up and away in the wind, then (after an already substantial distance travelled) eventually pop and it will glide gracefully another 'long way' before hitting the ground. Hopefully it doesn't just glide back to where I'm standing and hit me in the head...
I suppose I gould have picked fewer balloons and a small fixed wing drone... |

If you throw a large enough amount, that might help, although it also increases your body weight so it might be counterproductive |

I cannot guarantee in which direction it will go but I can definitely say it won't be where I aim "

"Wanging! I remember wanging cowpats at a farm summer festival when I was a child It was the end of the day and all the kids were let loose in the 'cowpat drop competition field' "
In my experience, it takes a few days for a cowpat to be wangable (I’ve just made a new word!) in the correct circumstances though, they make brilliant and disgusting frisbees |
