Only a week or so ago, I attended a funeral ...the final song was "always walk on the bright side of life" A few of the congregation attempted to join in, but to be honest the vast majority (as did I) looked very uncomfortable. I decided there and then most definitely not for me. Believe me, its about as original as a Benidorm hen night dress attire |

I actually found that choosing songs with my Mum and Brother enjoyable and somewhat cathartic. Now every time I hear the songs used, or some considered, it puts a smile on my face.
I do want my family to choose one song for this reason. |

As a Choral Music lover, my choice would be, "Nesciens Mater" by Jean Mouton. (John Eliot Gardner / Monteverdi Choir version is best).
The sublime Choral sounds are like the angels calling out as my coffin slides behind the curtain.

Being brought in:
Ghost - Miasma, or the Synthwave version of Astronomia (coffin dance meme)
The reflection bit:
The Hu - Shireg Shireg (acoustic)
Being taken behind the curtain:
Era - Ameno
Everyone leaving
Carameldansen or Whistle Stop/hamster dance... Sounds daft but those who know me know my sense of humour (alternatively it would be alestorm - f**ked with an anchor) |

"Wish you were here ( pink Floyd) then fancy a drink by the levellers as the curtains shut
My partner had Wish you were here as the service finished... He was carried in to the Star Wars, Imperial march... But he was wearing a Darth Vader onsie
AWww brilliant!Hi lady bug I was saying earlier there is such a vast selection of songs that are relevant xx
There certainly are, to be honest though, I dont really care what happens at my funeral, I doubt ill notice.
Does that sound horrible?
" No not at all your choice I have said to my kids do it as cheap as you can younenjoy the money xx |

Not at all... My Dad passed very suddenly in January, so we were left adrift not knowing what he wanted...
Walk in: Flash.. Queen
Contemplating: Top Gear theme tune
Walk out: I want to break free
Queen were his band ... we chose to lighten the mood...if at all possible... made me and my sister giggle a little... and think he'd have laughed too |

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands |
"Emerson,Lake & Palmer - Fanfare for the Common Man
Think I may be overrulled on the day though Don't worry do think you would mind lol"
I would be most upset, however knowing my daughter it would be a cardboard coffin, transit van to the crem and pocket the savings. |

A song for Athena
And out to Rule Britannia and my GFs to crack a bottle of champagne as I go! |

Well, for a crematorium, "Burning love," or "Smoke gets in your eyes" or "Ring of fire," either would be a glowing tribute, and add to the heart warming proceedings. |

A fellow fan!"
It would have to be the 9 min version, preferably the Montreal Olympic Stadium one.
How can Aarond Copland not like that? |

A stripped back, accoistic version of wake me up by Avicii. The lyrics always resonate with me, that feeling of never quite getting to where you want to be in life. |

My friend had sit down at his back in 1993 when we were 17. I smile every time I hear it

Oh please share this with people you know! The frustrations over choosing songs for someone is difficult and getting others to agree.
There has been a post on this before, several years ago, and I was unfortunately going through it trying to find the song someone had put just so their wishes could be met. |

Joe Brown does a really good rendition of See You In My Dreams on the ukulele, I’ve thought about having that as the music to walk the coffin out too. |

"Sorry morbid I know but some great songs come out at a funeral have you thought or indeed heard any x"
It was my mums funeral a few weeks ago. We carried her coffin in to the YMCA. The theory was that if she didn’t jump up and dance (she loved cheesy tunes) - then she was definitely dead!
At mine I want ‘Thank you for the days’ by Kirsty McColl x |

My brother passed suddenly last year. He had "Jerusalem" the Fat Les version during the service and went out to "Teenage Kicks" by The Undertones. |
