£27 for me too on YTS in 1987, went up a smidge. but not enough to get driving lessons, or a car. |

"My first wage was excellent in comparison to my friends. I was doing agency reception work for the NHS when my friends were in retail and took home around £180-200 a week in summer of 2000" wow decent money then hope you spent it wisely lol

Then on Saturday I worked for Littlewoods Pools and used to get paid £35 for 8 hours what did you do for the pools was it collecting from houses I vaguely remember our pools being collected hi by the way xx

Spot the ball checking…honestly if you ever done the spot the ball competition then you’d have never have won with me as I used to never check them properly
You got a clear sheet which you had to align to the coupon and then it had a tiny dot where the ball was and the ‘cross’ had to be in the exact centre of the X.
I was hungover most days on a Saturday |

1976 as a Army junior, we got £3 a week, the rest was saved by the army and given to you when you went on leave, you had to buy all washing gear and polish with the £3 |

I did ok though and I enjoyed it especially as there was me and a couple of Butchers, all the other staff were female " gateway supermarket I was a breadman in the 80s delivering to gateway did gateway buy fine fare out xxx |

£2 an hour, £1 deducted for lunch break, a total of £17 and I had the longest shift.
Saturday job. Got paid each week. But I made almost twice that in tips on the shift. |

Yes indeed, split wages with mum. Felt good as most friends were on about £27 doing YTS schemes, and that was before they paid their dig money!

Na this is showing off I've always found money in the streets even as a child I'm not talking about pennies notes 10, 20,5 plus change left over from a person who obviously was to d*unk to remember to pick it up I had two pubs on the street I grew up at each end oh plus the paper round and tips at Christmas |

I was self employed at 14 tying Trout Flies for my local tackle shop. I sold them for about 50p of which about 30p was profit. So I was making about 20 quid a week that was in the early Nineties so it pretty good money at the time. |

1996 was my first job . £40 a week ,then I was paid a extra £10 for the Saturday plus they put a extra £15 for the effort I put in .
Can honestly say though although the money wasn’t great , he was the best teacher . Made me what I am and have today . |

I was only 14 when I had my first job and I earned between £5 and £10 depending on how busy we were through the day. It was just a Saturday job.
My first job at 16 I was paid £51:22 a week. |

1971 was the first year of decimalisation of the currency and a lot of pubs took advantage of the rounding up to increase prices. Pints which were 2 shilling and 6 pence in old money suddenly became 20p or 25p in new money an increase of around 50%.

Peasants.....I had a silver spoon!
£20 per day as a tilers mate. Lasted 3 weeks then dislocated my shoulder in a fight! 1996
Then I joined Royal Mail on a YTS scheme for £200 per week back in 1997 |

£13.75 as a Saturday girl in the local bakers shop.
I was 14 nearly 15 and it was a long day with heavy work, hood fun though.
I spent my first wage on the newly released Supergrass I should Coco album which I still love and listen to this day
