Today my bathroom scales told me I’m overweight and I couldn’t be happier!!!
Out of context that sounds bad, but let me explain.
All through lockdown it’s been telling me I’m obese , but today; I weighed myself and I’m now 2lbs lighter than when lockdown started!!!
The only downside is that it says I need to loose another stone to be classed as “standard”. I haven’t been that weight since I was about 18 haha
I’ll be happy with another 4lb gone and then I’ll try and maintain that weight. |

There’s no such thing as “over wight” it’s such a stupid term
You could be 185lbs and 3% body fat and be considered over wight
Also you could be 185lbs and 30% body fat and be considered
As long as your health and fit that’s all that mater
People need to stop worrying about the number the

"How does your scale know these things ?
It’s a Bluetooth smart scale. It scans my muscle mass, bone structure, and even bmi.
Although it does say that my metabolic age is 45 "
How does it know your height ? |

Congrats on the weight loss, and by the way, Chris Hemsworth was technically overweight when he did the first Thor movie, it's not always just about BMI, good for you! |

Firstly I was talking in general to everyone
I see this mistake ever day
The body capable off drop about 60lb in water wight before it shuts down would send those scales haywire

It’s cool, I have a background in sports nutrition, and up until 2014 I had a very active sporting life. So my metabolism never changed despite my exercise and diet changing.
It’s a common story for sportsmen after retiring. |

Yo-yo weight for me over lockdown. Started to lose a fair bit and was getting quite comfortable in clothes that hadn’t fitted for a while and then winter hit... by the time I had finished work it was pitch black outside so all the walking and cycling got thrown to the wind. It’s all on again and a bit more... needs sorting. Oh I binned the scales just made me depressed |

I put my bathroom scales in the kitchen to confuse them, but I think the scale has been midnight feasting
It's the only rational explanation for the number on the screen, anyway
Well done OP! I'm trying to replace some fat with the muscle that melted off over lockdown.... |

I'm 6'5", 50" chest, 29" thighs....admittedly 40" waist. Half a stone heavier than when I stopped playing rugby (20 years ago), now 18st.
According to the great god BMI, I need to lose a third of my body weight to get into the middle of my "ideal" weight range!
Even my doctor agrees that is farcical.
BMI is too black and white! |

Do a fat index check there are calculators available on the internet just means measuring certain parts of your body.. should be around 20% over that is to much..forget bmi. |

You're best weighing in the morning as soon as you've been to the toilet. That weigh you get an accurate weight. You will get to a point where you shouldn't pay as much attention to the scales and your progress on your waist line. There is no trick. Small healthy portions, exercise, gradually lose weight. I weighted over 16 stone last year, started doing weights at home, cut all the bad stuff out, ate healthy. It's not easy, but when you see that weight come off, priceless. I went down to 13 stone last year. Put a stone on this year, but just maintaning at the moment. The important thing is to enjoy yourself. |
