I read a comment from another thread and it’s made me think about this group of people. The term (for those that don’t know) is a contraction and means ‘involuntarily celebate’.
I’m aware that it is a real issue and a real group of people, however, is this an issue on here with incels? |

I think incels have evolved from that, and can be quite hostile now.
I listened to a podcast the other day that talked about it. There are whole incel forums apparently, which aren’t very nice. |

Before I comment, for clarification: Are you, in the context of the site, OP, referring to people who would like to engage sexually but cannot for medical or social, religious, cultural reasons?
Thank you |

In my experience it’s always been synonymous with being hostile |

I don't know that I'd be so bold to refer to some men on here as incels.
But there is a lot of observable questionable behaviour towards, and views held, about women that won't shag them |

I agree with your second paragraph |

From 20 survived a life threatening condition which resulted in not being able to balance, poor mobility. By default was celibate, not by choice, slowly taught my body to work as it should, to be able to go outside. Go on walks. To begin to socialise. I don’t see myself as an incel, as don’t hate women, open minded, easy going. |

I think that it’s a key part of the discussion, that involuntarily celebate can cover an awful lot of reasoning and issues, yet it’s become shorthand for a very specific subset and attitude |
