"Phone call, voice note, text. That's how it goes in order of preference. "
I'm glad you prefer the call, Meli. Most of my younger friends will always just text/message. Frustrates the hell out of me x |

"Text can be miss read and there is nothing better than a chin wag lol "
I get frustrated with people on work when they have bad news for a customer. They'll email them, rather than pick up the phone. Just grow a pair of balls & ring them!! |

Depends what the conversation is... If its short and sweet then a text, if its a long back and forth it's a phone call.
I prefer text initially to get to know someone as I can reread and go over details and analyse a little more. X |

Exactly. And no reading too much into it, as you can often do via text. X |

Text is for VERY short messages like.
C.U. 6.30 @ Pub.
Anything longer should be voice.
Long texts cause endless misunderstandings.
I get fucked off HUGELY with people who ping pong text. I'm usually doing something from bathing to reading to eating ..... your constant interruptions are so fooking self serving ....
Pick up the phone and ask or tell and it's all over in one minute.

Apart from face to face we communicate almost exclusively with our kids via WhatsApp message. They're busy, we're busy we can keep in touch daily without needing to be available at the same time. The same goes for friends. |

Texts I find less intrusive of time. Phone calls are rarely convenient and you end up rushing them off the phone to get on with what you were doing or going.
Text sometimes to ask when is a good time to ring, but usually text to say meet for lunch etc, then talk face to face. |

Yep, my younger friends text as well! You can't read all the nuances, the inflections, the general tone. I love a phone call where all of that is easily understood - misreading text is far too common! |

I'd rather text, and it has never been an issue for me.
I get overwhelmed on the phone and only ring people if I have no other option.
I struggle to read people through phone, more so than text... and it sets off anxiety.

Txt or message.
I hate talking on the phone, to the point I refused to answer the office phone (so they ended up taking it away )
I feel so much more comfortable with txt, as I can think before I reply and not make (as much of) a fool of myself. |

Anything longer should wait till the pub and be said in person.
The benefit of txt, is that you shouldn't need to reply straight away.
Reply when it's convenient, you don't get that choice with a phone call, you're just left with looking for a way to get off the call without seeming rude. |

Text. I hate phone calls. Especially ones out of the blue. People don't seem to understand or respect that this is a big anxiety for me.
It's odd as I worked in a call centre for nearly 10 years
Same as face time. Hate it. |

Text. I always feel like a phone call is very demanding - who is to say it's a convenient time for the recipient?
A text can be received but not read until the recipient is ready, just feels less like an immediate demand for attention.
I enjoy chatting to mates on the phone, but we have always texted to agree a convenient time first. |

Depends what, when, where and why. Sometimes a you can get more accross by voice and you also get feedback in the moment, but sometimes you just want to get one line accross and control the pace of any dialogue without the messiness of a long conversation, even if it's a conversation you'd really enjoy. I mean that in a good way, like for example a text to say "I have such a busy day at work and you my love are really not helping because all I can think about is the amazing time we had together last night and that thing you did with your bumhole and a banana" would be better than trying to call from the office stressed during a busy day and self conscious about being overheard |

Depends what you have got to say really, If it's a quick text to let someone know something it's fine, otherwise pick up the phone its far easier than texting back and forth. |

Phone call, text, voice note, video message, video call I do them all. It helps build up trust I think. I like to make an effort with the sexy ladies in my life. |

A few weeks ago I'd have said text but recently managed several 45 min plus calls with a friend from here.
So I think it depends on the person/situation.x |

Mostly I prefer to text ... I like it, I’m good at it, fast, and I can think what to say instead of blurting
FaceTime freaks me out - unless I know the person really really well ... but even then I still hate it lol ... can’t help looking at that little screen and losing the thread of the conversation when I’m like ffs why am I doing thaaaat face
There’s loads of silly memes about phone fear - friends/family have sent me them alllll ... it’s me to a tee
Voice notes are good
Emojis help with inflection, mood and meaning so as to get around possible misunderstandings - I love my emojis
Sometimes it just has to be the phone though ... family/friends is fine but if others I might need to yank up my big girl pants and wander about a little beforehand x |

I actively avoid talking on the phone whenever possible... It makes me uncomfortable so I text or if it's someone I have a good relationship with who we talk all the time we send little videos over WhatsApp of what want to say |

Ditto. Phone calls make me very anxious and are a last resort. |
