Done it a few weeks ago, it did hurt for a couple of weeks but then the pressure eased off. Seen a few clips on youtube of people heating up a paper clip and piercing the nail, to release the blood trapped under it. it tried that today, but no blood come out, I think what is under my nail must be dried now. Question is will it slowly come out as the nail grows or do I have a black finger nail for years to come. |

There's a joke about this. A guy asks a girl why her head hair is blonde yet her pubic hair is black. She thinks for a minute & says "you know how when you hit your finger nail with a hammer & it goes black? Well my pussy has had some hammer" |

Apply ice as often on the nail so the tip of the finger feels numb |

It’ll grow out eventually. Not much you can do about it. You’re right in saying the blood had clotted so you couldn’t trephine it. Will take a few months to grow out. Until then you will be known as shit nail… |

Blacked plenty of nails over the years usually very painful for a day or two when you first do it, if you going to lance it probably needs doing immediately but being a coward have never done that, the next thing is when it is hanging on one side and catches on everything lol, takes a few months to regrow.Had one once when world cup was on so daughter nail varnished a union jack on it to hide it lol. |

During my A&E placement in my training many years ago, I had the great satisfaction of trephining someone's nail !
The heated end of a paper clip did the job, and the relief for the guy was instantaneous |
