Fruit in a curry - weird or ok?

What are your thoughts? I'll happily put raisins, pineapple and chopped apple in a curry.

Is that weird?

What other fruits do you add? Or shall I just get my coat?

Depends on the curry. Some milder dishes call for fruit. Also if from north or southern India if fruit is added

Not for me

I eat lots of fruit every day

There are very few fruits that I don't like

For me though, sweet & savoury rarely mix well

I am all for food segregation

I don't eat sweet & savoury together at the best of times, with the exception of a bit of apple in a salad (my Granny's influence). But no fruit in curry, or naan bread, ta

I cook a curry my mum used to cook when I was growing up from an old cookbook (about 1960s) and that has chopped apple in it. Add pineapple when it's served up. But I draw the line at raisins.

Depending on what kind of curry you are talking about, I just wouldn’t go for a sweet curry, pretty familiar with curry, if I had to add a fruit, it would only be coconut ??

Tomatoes: in the kitchen they are vegetables, but in the garden they are fruits.

Answer. Botanically speaking, a coconut is a fibrous one-seeded drupe, also known as a dry drupe. However, when using loose definitions, the coconut can be all three: a fruit, a nut, and a seed. ... Coconuts are classified as a fibrous one-seeded drupe.

Thats the copy/paste of first answer from google search. If you think I am saying something strange, doesn’t bother me. Please do whatever you wish.

I used to put pineapple in a butter chicken curry, adds a good sweetness.

But the standard tomatoes and peppers work a treat, or citrus- orange in a jalfrezi or lemon?
